Hi, I'm looking for an SLR. Similar to Pentax k1000, Canon AE-1 and Minolta XD-7. I understand that its hard to find these but I thought I would ask just in case.

Hi Stephen. I have a Canon EOS 500 body that I might sell.It takes all the modern lenses. Its been in my display cabinet since I bought a new digital one some years ago and was working perfectly then, but the batteries may have expired since. If interested reply on here and I will PM contact details.

Hi, Thank you for the offer but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I would prefer a fully mechanical camera. I am trying to get to the very basics of photography. Using manual settings etc. Thanks anyway.

e-bay would probably be a good starting point.
Although I also imagine that there are probably specialist Forums that deal only with non digital photography as well.
They would probably be a good place to discover sources of cameras.

Yes I think you are right, There are lots on e-bay although I try to avoid resorting to e-bay as I have had bad experiences with online purchasing. I will keep looking anyway. Thank you for the advice.

I have a Canon A1 with 199A Canon flash, with A1 motordrive, not cheap though.
Uses the old FD lenses which have never been beaten especially the primes.

That sounds good. What kind of condition is the camera in? Would you be willing to sell the camera by itself, without the flash and motordrive?

Thinking about it I could not part with it and break up the kit.
I love it too much.
It's part of a Canon camera display going back to 1959, mint condition and dont suffer from Canon cough.
The 199A Flash is as rare as rocking horse ---- here in Thailand and works. Plenty on Ebay but buyer beware.
The A1 was groundbreaking at the time, the forerunner of todays EOS system.

I also have a EOS 500 body ideal for learning all the tricks as it has TV AV Auto and manual. Thats for sale. Another bonus with the 500 its light and perfect for street and reportage work.

Well I understand that you would want to sell the kit together. Do you mind if I ask how much you would like to sell for?

Sorry mate, but that's way over my budget. Thanks anyway. I guess I will have to take a chance with e-bay.

Hi Stephen

I Have a Minolta X300. It comes with a couple of lenses and bag. It's used very rarely and looks like new. I will part with it cheap since I'm not using it.

PM me if you are interested

Yeah sweet as bro, I'm actually in Vientiane. Udon is the closest place where I can find a camera. Everything in Vientiane is fake or broken, its so frustrating. So I really appreciate the offers. I will get back to you if chigger doesn't reply soon :)

There are lots of second hand cameras like the ones you're looking for at http://www.camera2hand.net/topic_list_b ... brand_id=8 ......sort of a Thai ebay for camera website.

As you're heading from the statue circle to the fountain circle, about mid-way on the right hand side, there's an old-model camera store (probably a repair shop). I know I've passed others around town.....just can't quite place where.
