Yes,the final score was Expats United 6 Udon Tourist Police 8 but the many fans who witnessed this game will agree it was a traversty of justice !
The Expats had a goal disallowed and an effort that appeared to cross the line ruled out plus the TP handled a ball beforehand for one of the goals ,so the scoreline does not truly reflect the game.
For long periods the Expats were the better side, with a controlled passing game, but didnt make their superiority count and the TP were content to play a quick game on the break that paid dividends.
Surprisingly it was the Expats who were much the better side in the final 20 minutes when you would have expected them to struggle for fitness.
It was at the end of the first half/start of second half when the Expats lost the game with a 1-0 lead becoming a 5-1 deficit, then 7-3 to the TP.
The Expats then staged a stirring finale to pull it back to 7-6 and have numerous attempts to equalise before the TP broke away again to secure victory right at the finish.
All the Expats played out of their skins, none more than Dom who was the man of the match along with the TP no.7.
Trevor gave a great display in goal along with Steve and Sonny who scored a couple of great goals each.
Tony and Dokya helped shore up the defence after it had struggled initially and Nick and Alan gave inspired displays which showed that they had played at a higher level at one time. But all the lads played out of their skins.....sorree if I cant remember all of your names but the beer at the Irish Clock taking its toll now !
Nobody was more exhausted than the official photographer,Prenders, who took some great snaps, some of them I hope he might post tomorrow and not all were of the sexy girl cheerleaders !
A great night out which should be repeated soon.....why not a match against an AEK Nurses XI.....that should draw the crowds and the photographers !
