12 January 2013 is Children's Day

On the second Saturday of January the Thai people celebrate Children's Day by taking their children out to have fun. Many local authorities organise special events and other places of interests usually let children in for half price or even for free on this day.

Looks like UD Town will be staging 2 days of kids activities on the railroad backside of UD Town Lotus. Shows begin at 3PM....and run through 9PM.

Central Plaza is offering deals on bowling and movies for kids on the 12th.

The air base usually has a show for kids....but I can't find anything on the web.

In any case, expect lots of traffic, especially in the UD Town, Central, and Statue Circle areas.

A Thai friend tells me activities are ongoing right now.
If that's the case, I'd expect a lot of traffic on Taharn Rd....and backed up traffic around the statue circle.

i live near the airport and for the past couple of days around 9am the fighter jets have been flying overhead alot. I assume it is for an airshow
