Naga Clinic
Since I have not seen anything posted on the clinic, I thought others may like to know my experiences there.
First off, there are quite a few positives for the place. It is easy to get to; is open most of the time; there is a very nice lady there who speaks excellent English, having lived in Chicago for a while; the doctor I saw also speaks English, and seems to listen to what you have to say and takes your proactive thinking as a compliment to his service, unlike many Thai doctors.
The only real downside is that they do not normally itemize your bill, so it is difficult to know exactly what you are paying for. However, I did ask the doctor to give me the price on the meds I get there, and he cheerfully obliged.
Is it cheap? Compared to the Military Hospital, not so much. However, there is no waiting in crowded hot rooms for hours. In two visits, my longest wait was 5 minutes (not counting waiting for lab results). The place is clean and the equipment modern. The people are very nice, the doctor is helpful and listens, and the price is not outrageous. I paid 750 baht for blood tests for liver and kidney function and 1850 baht for doctor fees and meds, 1050 of which was for 14 days of the meds.
My biggest cost is the meds, and I will check prices at other pharmacies for them. (Blopress - Candesartan and Lipitor - Atorvastatin) If anyone has a good, inexpensive source for these, please share it. The clinic charges 40 baht each for the Blopress and 35 baht each for the Lipitor. These are both imported (albeit generics), so they are expensive here. Whether there is a Thai generic for these, I do not know yet, but will ask at the pharmacy.
All in all, I like the place. Quick, comfortable, efficient and not crazy expensive. My kind of place! I will continue to go back.

KB, as a price check - yesterday I paid 135B for 90 x 20mg Zimva (Simvastatin), at the pharmacy in the Ban Dung public hospital.
The box states the meds were manufactured by the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation in Bangkok.

Hi HM...it is a cardiology clinic. It is on Udon Dutsadee Rd on the right going towards the Baan Hoi market from the ring road. 215/15, just after the overpassy type of thing (not sure what it is, but looks like a raised walkway).
I am glad others find my postings useful.

I know that Simvastatin is available fairly inexpensively here as I was taking it before the atorvastatin. However, the doctor thought it would be prudent with my meds and cholesterol target to use the atorvastatin instead, as the numbers were not declining as much as hoped, so I will give it a shot and see what happens. If there is not a marked difference between the two, then I can always go back to Simvastatin.

I.N.R. (P.T.)check at the government hospital 100 baht... Kidney function 100 baht... Lab near the Prince Prajack round about same test 85 baht... Med from drugstore round the corner from Neesoon... Warferin 5 baht... carvedilol 25mg... 13 baht each... break tab in half for a 12.5 mg dose... New drug store near Top world very cheap also...
Never buy from Somsak Drug store (Prosi Road)... Asked him for his best price on Carvediol he quotes a price of 2500baht per 100 (12.5mg)... I mention I can buy it around the corner for 1200 baht same quantity same brand... he goes red and says ... "Yes that's possible..."

You can get Carvedilol 6.25mg at the pharmacy across from the tessabhan market, on the second side soi off Posri, for 700 baht for a box of 100. This lasts me 50 days, as my dosage is 6.25mg twice a day. Your price is a lot better, except I would have to cut the tabs into fourths, which I have always found to be a problem.
And yeah, I went to the military hospital a couple of times. It is rather inexpensive compared to the clinic. The first time at the MH, for a health check at their clinic, it was ok. No crowds, no long waits, and if not AC at least decent fans. The second time I sat in the general waiting room for 2.5 hours, even with an appointment. Temp was high 80's outside, and I was HOT! No AC, not even decent fans. I am not even going to attempt it with temps over 100! I don't mind paying a bit more for convenience and comfort.
However, I will check the prices at various pharmacies to find the best price on what I need to take.

Yeah that's the Drug store... opposite the Tessaban market... Big Green shop front... always busy so you know his prices are good... the other good cheap one is quite new...on Prosi road...opposite side to Top World supermarket about 100 meters towards the Chareon hotel junction... big shop front... I believe they do lots of retail to the smaller drug stores...
I also try and find the generic brands... these days manufacturing quality is very good... as good as the original products...
It costs 50 baht for a consultation with a Cardiologist at the government hospital... the same cardiologist that works at AEK Udon and the Bangkok hospital... I don't know what they charge now but it's not in the same ball park...

I am lucky at the moment as I still get tablets from the UK, but have to buy 16mg Candesartan cilexetil made by BloPress, the Drug store across from Ban Hoy ? He sells them for 1250 baht for 28. In Bangkok near Nana same tablets are 1050.00 baht. But he is still one of the cheapest Drug stores around.
My mate was able to get some in Cambodia for $4.65 for 14 tablets.

medications
I have said it before and repeat again for those new members
Just be careful about buying some medications that are temperature sensitive,
Many Pharmacies are not Air Con and ambient temperatures are ranging right now at over 35 C. Simvastin eg, says store below 30.
This does affect the quality of the active drug , if your breaking your tablets down, ur also exposing them to air, as before they were sealed, will affect them.
