Viewing Baseball and NFL Games

Post by polehawk » October 8, 2006, 9:17 am

This might be of interest only to Americans or Canadians who are living or contemplating moving to Thailand. First of all, I am an unabashed sports nut and really thought I would have to invest in one of the satellite dishes/receivers to pick up games from the states. I have no real interest in watching American TV shows or movies. Good news to me was that I have been able to watch the baseball playoffs (MLB.Com) on my home PC with TOT's ADSL internet connection. MLB.Com charges $14.95 (560 Baht) for all of the playoff and World Series games but well worth it, IMAO. I was able to watch my beloved team, THE Detroit Tigers, kick the living sheet out of the hated New York Yankees. It's good to know that live baseball can be viewed in Thailand. Can't wait to sign up for next season's games.

Also, live NFL games are available via Yahoo on the computer. Kinda pricey at 25 bucks a week. You do need a high speed internet connection to watch these games. I will check this one out tonight. Otherwise, I heard that the City Lodge is a good place to watch the Sunday/Monday night NFL games with your breakfast.

It will be an interesting series to follow and watch with good pitching on both teams. Hope the winner has enough left to handle the NL pretender, er contender.

Good luck to your A's. :D

With the Braves rebuilding and out of it this year, I'll have to say I'm rooting for Oakland.
