Dream team

In todays Daily News. Tourist police arrested 3 drunken farangs in Udon last night. Nice photo showing three likely looking lads on the front page all showing their stab wounds. Details are sketchy but this is info from tourist police. There are 3 members, 2 Brits, brothers Simon and Paul and an American Mark, they have lived in Udon for 8 months now, renting a house at Romyen project Non Bua, near First Homes. They have been in constant trouble through drunken behaviour, fighting and not paying the bill. The police have been called out so many times they have given them the nickname of Dream Team Karpey.Karpey, because they all have bad legs. Investigations in the UK have revealed the brothers are pennilesss and living on social security.
Last nights incident involved a farang establishment, they couldn't pay the bill, and the American ended up stabbing one of the brothers whose younger brother promptly stabbed him, no other persons, apart from the police were involved in the fight. They are now cooling off in Jail while police are investigating other felonies that may be connected to them.
To think I moved 10,000 miles to get away from this sort.

Valentine, I agree with you. This is also one of the reasons for me moving to Udon. Can't the Police take them down to Bangkok and stick them on a plane? If they can't afford the tickets perhaps we could have a quick whip round? We all realise that a few rotten apples will spoil the good life for the rest of us, and I am not into politically correct tolerance. If we get scum in Udon we should help to scape it off the top and dump it in the trash can. Anyone with police connections please pass on my 100% support of anything they do to induce such farangs to leave. Surely their visas can be revoked or cancelled?

Treehugger. whilst I can't reveal the other investigations because thats all they are as yet, if any are founded they are of a nature, not only that would involve deportation but charges back in the UK as well. :( I personally wonder about having stayed here 8 months without money :?: :?: :?:

That did cross my mind Stan.
If anyone can tell me how to copy a photo from a newspaper I will do so. I think they deserve all the publicity they can get

So it was in a thai newspaper, so it must be true. Only problem I have is that everyone in Romyen project is in bed by 10pm :!:

Next thing we'll be hearing, is that the martians have landed in the same newspaper :!: Maybe in the Romyen project, near First Home :!:

Now if this came from Doc, it might hold water :!: But it is funny how easily everyone jumps on it, or maybe just sad

Val, do you have any idea what happened to the Udon Thani News on udondee.com? It used to be displayed on the front page then moved to udon1900.com, now it's gone and replaced by a link to udon108.com. It's all a little confusing, especially when I can't read Thai.

Off Topic, but I know you'll forgive me.
udondee.com are displaying a notice that the website is temporarily closed for repair but hope to be back working fully soon. The links are suggested alternative news sources but there not very brilliant.

I did hear rumours that there were 2 brothers up here in Udon taking refuge from the Bangkok mafia or similar. I wonder if there is any connection.

I certainly agree, any bad apples please take them away and put on the next plane, pdq. It damages the reputation of the rest of us.

Yes, unfortunately it only takes a couple of bad apples to give us all a bad name.

It's a shame we're seeing more undesirables enter Udon these days, but I guess it's to be expected as Udon becomes a more popular destination.

That's what worries me. The Singha Beer Vest brigade are on their way.
Lots of Thai related forums talking about Udon, much cheaper for the mongers than Pattaya, Phuket, and Bangkok. Lots more direct flights from Bangers.

This is part of Doc's posting to explain what happened to the Dream Team.

The rest of the post and subsequent posts relating to the Tourist Police have been moved to a new topic: "Support the Tourist Police".
Doc wrote:OK - now the facts as they have been related to me...

The three clowns were renting a house from one of the Thai Tourist Police here in the village. They were there a full 3 or 4 days, and now have been evicted by way of the Monkey House - but, from what I understand, are once again walking about in civilization as we know it. Don't know where they are staying.

They are totally dependant upon a social security check from the UK. As a result, they have run up more bar tabs than one can imagine. They ran up a 2,000 Baht bill at the local market here in the village in just one day.

Rather than take up a collection to send them back to the UK - I say just drop them off in Laos and don't let them back in. Laos can take care of them quite well. LOL

The picture was taken in the house that they were renting. Apparently they had been on the piss for the entire day, and started fighting with each other. No real crime was done since they were not attacking another Thai - and they aren't going to press charges against each other. A few weeks ago, the smallest one popped a falang in the nose at Tongs, but technically, the falang asked for it - so a crime really wasn't committed except in the strictest sense.

That they have been a source of trouble for a number of months is no secret. Falangs have been complaining about them to each other for a long time, but complaining amongst ourselves does nothing to aleviate anti-social behavior from other falangs that we find to be offensive.

As I understand it the 2 brothers are on the run for not paying bar bills in Bangkok. The younger Paul was living in Udon 2 years ago so he thought it would be the ideal place to "get out of dodge".

Udon is also where allegedly Paul was caught for outrageously over staying his visa and after a period o ftime in immigrations monkey house, he was deported back to the UK!

Why has Thailand allowed him back in? simple he changed his surname via "Deed Poll".

The 2 brits have been attempting numerous scams on local expats here in Udon for some time now!
One of which was trying to get people to invest in their  consortium to purchase & takeover Mojo's:idea: from Alan a.k.a. "Mr Happy"

It may be all over for the one seated on the right of the picture in the not too distant future!
I can confirm he is on monthly voa's (Visa On Arrival) (His Last Visa Run was two days ago on the 15/10/2006)
How do i Know? .....I own a business close to the friendship bridge & spoke with him briefly as he passed by after arriving back this side of the border
