Looking for an old mate

Hello

I used to live in Udon ,Kumphawap to be exact ,between 2000 and 2005. I knew both Steves from Steves bar the latter one a good friend who we lost a while back of course.

A good mate i lost contact with is "Welsh Brian" he had a bar in the strip behind Mr Tongs and came from Hollyhead he must be early fifties now , had a missus and kids in Udon .he also didn't mind a light ale or 12.

I've been working in China and Malaysia for quite a while and now live in Ayhutthaya , I wouldn't mind popping down to Udon if Brian is about , last I heard he was in the UK for a while and then came back to Udon

Last I heard he was back in the uk great guy think his missus has still got a bar down from uptoyou

Thanks for that mate they had a bar round that bit behind Tongs, Had some great laughs with him , he sounded more scouse than welsh. Me him and Steve number 2 from Steves bar used to knock around together quite a bit.

I left Udon with my 2 young kids in 2005 (Long story) and Brian and his Mrs dropped me off at the airport.

I may pop down to Udon this year for old times sake , I'd probably recognize a few old faces

I met him in Nutty Park just after Songkran last month.
He is still based in UK but comes back to Udon and Pattaya from time to time.
He used to drink in the old City Lodge last year...not sure where his regulars haunts are now.

If you see him again please tell him (West Ham)Dave was asking after him, the fella who was with him when he blew his finger nails off playing with Thai fireworks after a long day on the beer in 2004 , a night that will live long in my memory.

Is there anyway i can pass a phone number to give to him without putting it up on the open Forum ? I'm working in Malaysia at the moment but my house and family are in Ayutthaya. I may pop down to Udon in August if he's about

Remember that well as I know you to as I had the aussiebar right next door to Brian in the old soo farlung good to hear your travelling well I'm back in Aus now with new wife and two kids but hopeing to head back soon

Hello mate , I thought it was you when i read your first post on this thread. That was probably one of the first bars down that strip. Cant recall exactly the bars but at one time it was Steves, a place on the other side of town or yours/Aussie

I was gutted to hear about Steve I was working in China at the time and only had time for work and then a couple of weeks back in Ayutthaya with the family every couple of months and didn't see him for about a year.

I'll keep looking in on this Forum , to see if anyone can locate the mad Welshman for me , maybe I'll catch you in Udon when you are there Justin

Yeah I buried Steve he'd just had enough his wife kept the place going as long as she could but got out but still lives in udon ill send you her number in a private message

Pretty sure he was in Sports Bar a few weeks/months back (time passes too quickly to remember exactly).

Whilst on the subject, anyone ever hear from West Ham Colin .... he of the E3 Bar and old Sports Bar c 2006/7 ish and Kabab stand.

I heard Brian has been flitting in and out of Udon. Understand he & Nee have had a daughter to go along with their boy TJ. Glad to hear you are still around many years since the original Steve's bar, Horshoe Bar Mojos etc. etc. Still spporting the Hammers no doubt, someone has to!Toffee Dave.

Hello mate , its been a long time. I left Udon with my 2 kids in 2005 and lived in naklua and then Ayutthaya , I got full custody of my kids a few years ago. I had to keep away from udon for obvious reasons but all sorted now. The last time I saw Brian he had dropped me off at Udon airport with my kids. Real shame about Steve , he was a good mate

If I can work out how to do a personal message on here I'll send you my Phone number and if you see the mad Welshmen (I'll never forget him blowing his finger nails off) you can pass it on if you don't mind mate.

West ham I inherited form my Dad , Brothers and where i came from, my son has had a choice and being mainly Thai he went for your mates Liverpool , I was actually quite pleased he didn't choose WHU , they ruined my life now at least he has a chance
