bread making

does any1 know where you can buy bread making machines in udon ? i found an old thread from 2009
but wondered if any of the big supermarkets stocked them and the ingredients for making bread .

I have not seen one on my travels Martyn.
Personally I am not sure that they actually make a good loaf of bread either..

The ingredients are readily available from Tops & I imagine Villa as well as the others (on a good day

).
The yeast I use is dried in a small brown bottle with a blue white & green label with the word PERFECT in white lettering on a blue back ground.
Can't remember how much it cost, but not a lot & it lasts for ages as you only use a teaspoon (or 2) at a bake.

Tops are currently selling 'Duchy' plain white flour at 15x baht for 1.5 Kgs or Waitrose plain white at just over the 100 baht.
They also sell stone ground wholemeal flour in small packs (half kilo I think) & I usually mix some of that in with the white flour to give the bread a bit of texture...

I used this recipe the other day to make some Nan bread - then cooked it in a large frying pan over the gas. Came out well, but I would use half the mixture in the future & add the liquid a bit at a time...it is a bit of a messy process, or maybe that is just me...

Before the re-model at Central Robinson's carried one or two models. No idea if they still have.

I recently looked for an all-in-one bread maker at Robinson"s. Went so far as to ask the department head who confirmed no such appliance.

so it looks like the chances of a bread making machine in udon looks like pretty slim
eff is this not a third world country , i,m not asking 4 the world ...

Snowy mi old FLOUR dont get a COBB on ..some advice from mash ........ why dont you RISE to the occasion , save some DOE and if you really NEED a machine i could pick you one up in Bangers my next trip , if you want this to ROLL then dont LOAF about feeling sorry for yerself ,,,, maybe my NAN could send you one from Blighty ,,, take it easy jai yen yen im sure one will turn up then you can crack a RYE smile and raise a glass of Archa as a TOAST !!!!!!!!!!!.

Maybe easier just to buy the best bread in town from CC .......

There's a tent out the front of Makro that sells all sorts of commercial grade food buggering gear. Long shot but they may have what the OP needs.

I popped into Robinson's today, and they had a least 8 "CUZIMATE" bread making machines on display. I believe the price is 2990 baht. I think "CUZIMATE" is a local make. I have been using the same brand for the past 6 months, and have no problems with it. The instructions are all in Thai, but just google bread machine recipes and you'll be fine. I've made some wonderful dark rye in my machine. All the ingredients found at Villa

We bought a Cuzimate table top grill in December.....on sale at Robinson's for 1300 Baht. Another brand with slightly less wattage was about 2500. Despite some hesitation about how much we'd use the grill, turns out it's great....easy to use, clean, and works efficiently. We've easily used it 30 or more times....no problem. It doesn't make bread, but brand wise, it seems a safe bet.
