Bike Ralley Nong Khai Saturday

Post by Bump » October 17, 2006, 11:23 am

I have been invited to a ralley in Nong Khia on Saturday by a French friend, don't have much info past that. Since I don't speak French and he doesn't speak english. I'll be going to close to pass up.

I get the impression that this is a first for Nong Khia and will be similar to what was done in Udon last year. Anyone have an additional inforamtion please post it.

Not busy seems worth a short trip to find out a bit more. But the again I'm always looking for excuses to go riding

The good weather is just around the corner WHOOPEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you inviting people to go on a bike ride in Nong Khai?

No, did it say I was inviting anybody? Just telling people about it. I was also hoping that someone else may have additional information about the event.

Anyone is always welcome on rides, but as a norm invitations are not given out. People hear about these things go solo or find a group to ride with others, up to them.

Is that bike ride with a bicycle or a motorcycle?

No it is a organzed event in some cases that could mean meeting in a certain place for a planned ride. However in this case it is a show and everyone will go there. There will be custom bikes on display and contest for the best bikes. A dinner is planned in the evening and a show. IE music dancers Ect.

Probably a lot of bike goodies for sale, hard to tell since this is thier first event. There are several of these scheduled throughout the year, the biggest being Chaing Mai Bike week. Udon has one as well.

There will be if the event goes well lots of big bikes there from all over Thailand. I will be riding down with some other guys so I haven't really pursued the exact location.

Since your in the area anyway might be fun to find where it is and if nothing take a walk through and check out the bikes. During the day light hours things will certainly be calm. Most of time you go to these events you run across bikers with serious money in thier bikes so as a general rule not a crazy bunch of guys.

Not at all like the outlaw gangs you see in the states.

I'm not making any bets on this one I haven't seen it advertised much, but I haven't been in the shops that would normally be promoting this type of activity. So it may be a big thing or it may fizzle don't know.

But if you got nothing else to do and want to kill a bit of time might be good thing to check out.

Beermonkey are fighting windmills again and giving me spelling lessons, just be happy I make you guys look so good

Well looks like I won't make it, the guys here are leaving at 1600 Hours and going up for the party in the evening. The 750 is still in the shop and the 150 does not have a good lighting system so that type of riding at night is not a good idea with it.

Still have no idea where it is, so if someone goes how about sharing with us about how it went, the one in Udon last time was great.
