So, why don't we quit name calling and get on with amicable discussions...
I don't see any real good Presidential candidates in line, from either party.

Another nail in ObamaCare.
Court: Hobby Lobby can challenge health care law
http://news.yahoo.com/court-hobby-lobby ... 33290.html
The appeals court rejected Obama's Justice Department argument that allowing for-profit corporations to exempt themselves from regulations that violate their religious beliefs was tantamount to allowing the business to force its religious beliefs on employees. The 10th Circuit cited a 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that for-profit corporations have rights to political expression.
"We see no reason the Supreme Court would recognize constitutional protection for a corporation's political expression but not its religious expression," said the judges.
This is just one of many weak planks in the deck that will unravel the entire mess.

Religious freedom Is still protected by this ruling. Many other lesser-known, Catholic-affiliated businesses in several states have also challenged the contraception mandate. The judges unanimously sent the case back to a lower court in Oklahoma, which had rejected the companies' request for an injunction to prevent full enforcement of the new law.
. . .
"Hobby Lobby and Mardel have drawn a line at providing coverage for drugs or devices they consider to induce abortions, and it is not for us to question whether the line is reasonable," the judges wrote. "The question here is not whether the reasonable observer would consider the plaintiffs complicit in an immoral act, but rather how the plaintiffs themselves measure their degree of complicity."
. . .
Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., Mardel Inc. and their owners, the Green family, argue for-profit businesses — not just religious groups — should be allowed to seek an exception if the law violates their religious beliefs. The owners approve of most forms of artificial birth control, but not those that prevent implantation of a fertilized egg — such as an IUD or the morning-after pill.

Wow, training California's youth to promote Obama care. Yep that's the education they need...what will the administration resort to next?
http://news.heartland.org/newspaper-art ... -obamacareCalifornia Schools to Train Kids to Sell ObamaCare
The Los Angeles Unified School District will use a state grant to train teens to promote ObamaCare to family members. Covered California, the state's health insurance exchange, announced grants of $37 million on May 14 to promote the nationally unpopular law.

If obama care is so damn popular why does the administration need to solicit high schools kids & the NFL to promote it.
What's next, soliciting the homeless wearing sandwich boards to push their agenda...
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06 ... eagues-to/NFL bucks call to promote ObamaCare, as Republicans pressure sports leagues to say no
Earlier in the week, Health and Human Services Department officials said they were talking to the NFL, NBA and others about possible advertising campaigns, in the run-up to the launch of a key part of the health care law.

Some sure like to attach the Left's key words to those who defend America, its values and its citizens, but they can never articulate specific examples of what is so "rabid" or "radical." It's called verbal bomb-throwing.rabid
Our generation has sat and watched parts of the world quietly being taken over by people flooding in from other continents who are working hard to change the culture and the society and the laws -- and in many cases demanding it in a violent way. I guess misery loves company. Maybe that's why we are attacked for defending our values and our homeland.
Maybe like KP, they just think we should put our heads down, be quiet and just get in the long gray hopeless slavery line with them.

Uh oh. Remember that line about "Arab Spring" and supporting democracy that Obama was touting? Yeah, I thought it was lunacy, too. Anyway, appears lots of Egyptians think so, too.

Yes, That rainbow across the world that Obama was supposed to be igniting gets harder and harder to see. Everyone knows that you can't bring democracy to a society that is uncivilized and intolerant. They will use it to oppress the minority and torment those who reject them. It's happening in Egypt. An Egyptian opposition group accused the US of "being partner to a conspiracy to keep President Mohamed Morsi in power."
. . .
This morning, Egyptian protestors attacked the headquarters of Muslim Brotherhood, and the headquarters were attacked on Saturday as well.

Germans join the "Don't Trust Obama" Club.
Germans Loved Obama. Now We Don’t Trust Him.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/30/opini ... =all&_r=1&
Yes, candidate Obama said anything to get elected. President Obama says anything to deflect attention away from his lies and broken promises.
Secret courts, secret data transfers, secret storage facilities containing secrets about individuals and families. Obama's definition of the transparency that he talked about so much as candidate Obama and still lies through his teeth about as President Obama? That transparency?
Yes, this writer is harkening back to that same old, dead and gone Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, and reflecting on his words in the 21st Century. This writer is NOT going to stand in the slavery line with those who just give up and accept tyranny, oppression and violations of rights.
Germans Loved Obama. Now We Don’t Trust Him.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/30/opini ... =all&_r=1&
In Germany, whenever the government begins to infringe on individual freedom, society stands up. Given our history, we Germans are not willing to trade in our liberty for potentially better security. Germans have experienced firsthand what happens when the government knows too much about someone. In the past 80 years, Germans have felt the betrayal of neighbors who informed for the Gestapo and the fear that best friends might be potential informants for the Stasi. Homes were tapped. Millions were monitored.
Although these two dictatorships, Nazi and Communist, are gone and we now live in a unified and stable democracy, we have not forgotten what happens when secret police or intelligence agencies disregard privacy. It is an integral part of our history and gives young and old alike a critical perspective on state surveillance systems.
Yes, candidate Obama said anything to get elected. President Obama says anything to deflect attention away from his lies and broken promises.
But the senator who promised to shut Guantánamo is now a second-term president who is still fighting for its closure. And the events of the past few weeks concerning the collection of metadata and private e-mail and social-media content have made many Germans further question Mr. Obama’s proclaimed commitment to the individual freedoms we hold dear.
DURING Mr. Obama’s presidency, no American political debate has received as much attention in Germany as the N.S.A. Prism program. People are beginning to second-guess the belief that digital communication stays private. It changes both our perception of communication and our trust in Mr. Obama.
Secret courts, secret data transfers, secret storage facilities containing secrets about individuals and families. Obama's definition of the transparency that he talked about so much as candidate Obama and still lies through his teeth about as President Obama? That transparency?
When courts and judges negotiate secretly, when direct data transfers occur without limits, when huge data storage rather than targeted pursuit of individuals becomes the norm, all sense of proportionality and accountability is lost.
While our respective security services still need to collaborate on both sides of the Atlantic to pursue and prevent organized crime and terrorism, it must be done in a way that strengthens civil liberties and does not reduce them. Although we would like to believe in the Mr. Obama we once knew, the trust and credibility he enjoyed in Germany have been undermined. The challenge we face is to once again find shared values, so that trust between our countries is restored.
Perhaps instead of including a quote from James Madison in his speech, arguing that “No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare,” Mr. Obama should have been reminded of the quote from another founding father, Benjamin Franklin, when he said, “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Yes, this writer is harkening back to that same old, dead and gone Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, and reflecting on his words in the 21st Century. This writer is NOT going to stand in the slavery line with those who just give up and accept tyranny, oppression and violations of rights.

IBD/TIPP Poll: Obama's Approval Dives To Record Low
http://news.investors.com/070113-661974 ... d-poll.htm
According to the latest IBD/TIPP Presdential Leadership Index, Obama's Presidential Leadership Index dropped to 43% from 49% a month ago.
The survey was conducted by TechnoMetrica and took place June 24-29 among 857 adults.
The recently revealed government surveillance program was not well-received by the public. Fifty-nine percent said the government surveillance invades innocent American's privacy and the split among independents was even more pronounced with 75% saying so. Democrats were not thrilled either, as 42% felt that the surveillance invaded privacy.
Obama did not fare well on the issue of IRS targeting, as 48% believe White House officials ordered the targeting.
Yes, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but Obama cannot escape the fact that he is President of the United States and over the Executive Branch, which has direct control over all government agencies in that branch. It's all happening on his watch, and the nature of the violations are all similar in scope -- targeting political enemies and using big government to torment citizens.

One can never forgive Nasser for his brutal ouster of the British from that harsh land. Of course, he had help from the United States in that venture.

Two words regarding their uncivil nature today: Sharia Law. The Muslim Brotherhood is not progress. It's severe regression.

Uh oh. More cracks.
Health-Law Employer Mandate Delayed by U.S. Until 2015
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-0 ... -2015.html
We’re well past the creaking stage of ObamaCare. Now we’re starting to hear cracks. Democrats got destroyed in one midterm election because of this foolishness that the majority of Americans did NOT want.
The Democrats told us that we had to pass the bill to see what’s in it. Now we’ll have to implement the bill without an employer mandate to see what it looks like in practice. Looks like a bunch of businesses will drop coverage and leave workers to fend for themselves.
Gallup polled businesses just a few weeks ago to see how they were handling it.
Will Obamacare Hurt Jobs? It's Already Happening, Poll Finds
http://www.cnbc.com/id/100825782
Forty-one percent. That’s terrible under any circumstances but potentially catastrophic next year with the Fed warning that the age of quantitative easing is coming to an end. And an economic catastrophe driven by ObamaCare means another electoral catastrophe for Democrats.
If it is delayed in 2014 to keep Democrats from losing more seats in Congress, then it will be a drag on 2016.
This is what failure looks like.

We’re well past the creaking stage of ObamaCare. Now we’re starting to hear cracks. Democrats got destroyed in one midterm election because of this foolishness that the majority of Americans did NOT want.
What happens now, without a law requiring businesses to provide insurance to full-time workers as the cost of coverage — and the cost of complying with other new O-Care regulations — rises? No one knows. The decision will come in regulatory guidance to be issued later this week. It addresses vehement complaints from employer groups about the administrative burden of reporting requirements, though it may also affect coverage provided to some workers.
The two officials, who asked not to be identified to discuss the move ahead of its announcement, said the administration decided to wait until 2015 before enforcing the employer mandate in order to simplify reporting requirements and give businesses more time to adapt their health-care coverage.
The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act includes financial penalties on businesses with more than 50 employees that fail to provide health insurance that meets minimum standards and tests for affordability.

“We were startled because we know that employers were concerned about the Affordable Care Act and the effects it would have on their business, but we didn’t realize the extent they were concerned, or that the businesses were being proactive to make sure the effects of the ACA actually were minimized,” said attorney Steven Friedman of Littler Mendelson. His firm, which specializes in employment law, commissioned the Gallup poll…
Forty-one percent of the businesses surveyed have frozen hiring because of the health-care law known as Obamacare. And almost one-fifth—19 percent— answered “yes” when asked if they had “reduced the number of employees you have in your business as a specific result of the Affordable Care Act.”
