Visa card problem

Post by rjb » July 16, 2013, 1:52 pm

Tried to book a KAL flight to the US. To make a long story short after several attempts and timing out, 2 calls to customer service in BKK and 2 calls to Chiang Mai KAL number where you can not make a reservation or get much information and a couple hours wasted I was frustrated. The bottom line is KAL would not accept a Thai billing address, it was use a US (or Canada) billing address or pay cash. Okay!!! A neighbor had given me the phone number for Journey Travel and gave the young woman high marks for service and efficiency indicating she had inquired that if he could change his travel date a few days she coud save him some money.
I gave her a call, told her what I wanted, she called back and asked if I would adjust my departure date by one day she could save me close to 4,000 plus TB. I agreed, went to her office between Phosri Rd and Sri Chomchun Rd on Amphoe Rd close to Sri Chomchun Rd. The young woman is Napat and the travel agency is combined with a coffee shop.
My wife and I were more than impressed with the service. In fact, the KAL price was $3003.00, my final price thru Napat was 71,000 TB and change.

The young lady you speak of is very helpful and speaks excellent English.

Holy Moses rjb...I hope that price was for 2 round trip tickets. I believe you could go on www.kayak.com and buy tickets to most anywhere in the US for less than $1500 each. I'd be interested to know if KAL is selling round trip tickets from Udon to Seoul and on to the US since I heard they will be starting that route out of Udon about this time in July.

Yes, 2 round trips to LAX. No idea about Udon to Inchon. We like to go to Chiang Mai better than BKK and have lunch at Miguel's when we have the chance.

Was in the airport yesterday. Two new (well, old, actually, but new to the location) immigration-type desks set up just outside the baggage claim area exit doors.

Parrot, I thought I read on another thread where the flights were from Udon to Seoul.

Thanks for the clarification...never crossed my mind that they were one and the same.
