Ah yes, last week's fish and chips special was a big hit, had to restock a couple times! Still available with Jun's secret seasonings and our home made tartar sauce, but now at regular, and still reasonable price of 130 baht.

Weather has been lovely lately, but maybe a bit warmer today than it has been. Still nice to sit outside and "people watch" around the Nong Prajak area. Always seems to be something of interest going on... a princess popping in for a visit in the neighborhood, VIP's arriving with full police escorts across the street, motorbikes crashing into car doors opening in front of 7/11... and so on.

All this weekend... Kamakaze Shooters... 30 baht! :drunk:

For any of you home cookers, we have more than a dozen 50g packs of Oregano that are free to anyone who asks. Jun's uncle is a supplier to Makro and many of the other large markets. It was a damaged box that was refused. All the plastic packs are intact however.

Hey Joe (wasn't that a Jimi Hendrix song, I digress) glad to hear you're safe in camel country. We'll see you next month and catch you up on the latest goings on.

Today we're testing a new breakfast delicacy. Tune in next week for something you've really been missing! ;)

Bubba and Jun

P.S. We miss you papa Lee

Can't believe you were selling the Fish & Chips for 99 baht, what I saw Friday night for 130 baht was easily worth double even in Udon Thani! And the tartar sauce was fabulous.

Now, if you added peas or mushy peas on the platge and an extra 20-40 baht to the price, I'd really be happy, as I usually like to include some veggies in a meal and the nice big pile of French Fries don't count.

AMERICAN HONEY by Wild Turkey

Dennis saw your Wild Turkey comment in the Villa thread and the bottle on your shelf. Re our conversation the other night, the Phosri Road store does have Wild Turkey American Honey since a few months ago. Ironically, he was showing the back label out, rather than the front, until I corrected him.

See the product here:

Excellent philly cheese steak I had last week (and had no problem finishing it)
I had to pick-up FIL from the hospital and was hungry awaiting his release...
Hesitated for the fish and ships and the tartar sauce, will order that when I get back
I am in Brussels eating mussels and Belgian fries today, will eat Thai at the Bredene Thai market this Saturday and buffet Vichy in Montreal this Sunday. That's the most incredible buffet I ever filled my belly with at 8 Canadian dollar.
But the fish&chips will get me back to Bubba's somewhere on or after 15 September...

Thanks, Nick. We'll see you next month.

Haven't been posting much lately, just don't have much energy these days, getting old is a biatch ;) Yeah I know, not much energy needed to stroke the keyboard, but have to use my brain also, and I killed a lot of grey matter in the 60's ;)

None the less, our fish and chips have been going strong, along with our Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches and other favorites. TripAdvisor.com continues to bring in new customers every week from far away places, like the New Zealander we had a couple days ago. Many thanks to our customers who have posted nice reviews.

Hey, Bubba,

Have you thought about doing breakfast? You already have what you need for french toast. Eggs would be easy, and if you got bacon, any that's left over could be mixed into something else. With the interest in breakfast seen in other threads on UM, I'm sure that your regulars would be game. Just thinking out loud....

Couple of servings of CAJUN JAMBALAYA remain for tomorrow. It REALLY is better after chilling a day or two.

Just opened the Wild Turkey 81 to share with Jun and her friends... one word.... SMOOOOOOTH. :drunk:

We don't serve the traditional "Engish" breakfast here, but if you want a 3 egg omelet stuffed with veggies, cheese, and smothered in scrumtious chili... we got it, 180b including tea or coffee (bottomless cup) See you in the AM ;)

Two more new customers yesterday from the TripAdvisor.com website. One couple from Greece, and another group from Australia/Tokyo. I continue to be amazed at how far reaching that website is and how many people actually read all the reviews from an area they plan to travel.

Best sellers so far this week, our Burgers (one of the afore mentioned customers ate TWO yesterday, at 200g each, quite a feat), chicken fried steak, and our Jumbo Chili Cheese Dog.

No specials this weekend, just all the usual good stuff.

Note: Next week we will be CLOSED on Wednesday (4 Sept) in addition to our normal Monday and Tuesday closing. Going on a short trip with some friends visiting from Europe.

Just an example of something Jun prepared "off the menu" for someone who wanted a nice piece of seasoned breaded fish , but without fries. So here's fish and salad:

In our never ending quest to provide customer satisfaction, we've added a little something to the wash basin area:
JD.jpg

No folks, only a joke, could never waste of bottle of JD in this manner, although I think this really is a soap dispenser.

Reminder: CLOSED Monday, Tuesday, AND Wednesday next week. See you next Thursday, or tonight (and help me finish off the bottle of Wild Turkey ;) )

Busy day yesterday, and found out some were disappointed having made a trip and found us closed on Wednesday. I keep forgeting not everyone in Udon reads UM forum on a daily basis. But a nice mix of regulars and new customers yesterday.

Welcome to Udon, Paul, hope you consider our area worth spending more of your retirement time. Loved your story about where the tuk tuk driver took you when you told him you wanted a big burger! Also interesting to hear your perspective of Hua Hin, permanent residence vs vacation. Just keep in mind during your travels and stay in Thailand... you're not in Chicago any more!!!

Watching the the rerun of Boncos/Ravens game. Don't know the outcome... SO DON'T TELL ME!
