This Week's Shopping Deal

KB_Texas wrote:Dunno if this is a deal or not, but seem to recall it being a LOT more expensive! Tops has Best Foods mayo on sale at 89 baht per 460ml jar. I have been buying Kraft here, since it was considerably cheaper than Best Foods, and you can't really get Hellmann's. The jar says mayo, not salad dressing. Hopefully it will be somewhere close to Hellmann's. :)

They had approximately 8 jars left this morning.

As a follow up to this post, this Mayo is definitely NOT the normal Best Foods/Hellmann's mayo! I am not sure what it is, but it is not what I call Mayo! A tart, chemically flavor to it, almost like it is made with the Thai 'fake' vinegar! A waste of 89 baht!!!

In the states, I always bought Hellmann's/Best Foods mayo. After trying it here and finding it nothing like what I was expecting I switched to Kraft Mayo (not Miracle Whip) and found it to be much better for my use. I also make my own mayonnaise on occasion using our blender or immersion blender. I will make it when I expect to use all of it within a week or two. No doubt about it, the Best Foods/Hellmann's mayo here is not the same as in the USA. Not even close.

Noticed 1kg bags "ARO" brand popcorn in Makros this morning for 55 baht. Maybe old news, but this is quite a buy, considering single serving "jiffy" bags are about 30b EACH.
Every day I wake up is a good day.

At the main Tesco's (opposite SB Furniture) yesterday.......
Whiskas "Hairball Control" dry cat food (Chicken & Tuna flavour with Salmon pockets)...........down from 56 baht to 18 baht ! :yikes:
A very cheap price for keeping your pussy happy and contented.....maybe even edible for the farang who has fallen on hard times ! :-k
Only this brand at 18 baht, the others are still 56 baht.

McVities Digestives biscuit promotion still on....2 for 99 baht.....Milk Chocolate and Plain Digestive.....the 2 packets ring through the till, initially,at 64 baht each but at the bottom of the bill you see the 29 baht discount.

Fineline Washing Detergent.....49 baht,buy 1 get 1 free
Fineline Softener (large)......65 baht,buy 1 get 1 free
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

For coffee lovers . Tesco Nadee have on there discount shelf, Nescafe Tasters Choice, green label decaf 7oz jars knocked down from 569 to 147bht .Expiry date end of this month but I don't think that matters as they are all sealed jars. Also from Tops they are doing Mc Vities Rich Tea biscuits 200g size for 39bht. This is the normal selling price from now on apparently so not out of date .
