Easy Golf Course and Basic Instruction Near UT

I would like to introduce my Thai Lady to golf. Are there any easy, perhaps Par 3 courses near Udon Thani? I would like to start her on a course that will be easy and not be full of very serious golfers who may get impatient with a beginner.

What is the best way for her to get an introductory lesson or two? Better that a professional teach her than me.

Maybe ask around at Sri Thani course?
They have driving range (so-called), and maybe they have a reasonably good golfer who is prepared to help teach?
Try week days, definately not weekends.

IMO any newcomer has to get the basics right. If you start with bad habits and wrong technique you just going to get frustrated. It's far easier to start from the beginning and get it right first time than try and change later on when you've developed lots of mistakes.
Udon Thani has a very good PGA qualified coach. I would advise you to have maybe 5 initial lessons with him to see if you enjoy it and have the aptitude before going on a course.

the driving range near the airport always had an instructor there. When i first got my wife into it we went there and the instructor was good

Would anyone have an update golf instructors in Udon? I know there is one working out of Sri Thani GC, but that is an hour drive for us living 15 km north of Udon.

Would anyone know if there is a good Thai or Falang instructor working out of Nong Samrong GC or the Airport? Thanks ! GT

There is an instructor at the driving range near the Global DIY store on the ring road. I believe he is Thai so no communication problem with your wife. Never met him so don't know if he speaks English as well. Not only does he do instruction at the driving range but on course instruction also but I don't know costs. There is a phone number for him displayed at the range.

Cheap and no airs and graces it is perfect for a learner

No worries - by the way I played there last week for the second time since taking up golf again three years ago. I am a very, very average to crap player and I lost 11 balls in 18 holes so won't be back.My own experience different for others. The course however was in very good condition.

We did try hitting a few balls at the driving range there a few months ago. I am not sure how interested she really is in golfing though. Now that I am living here fulltime, I will try few courses after I get things more settled, such as new visa, etc etc
