Right to ingress and egress

My wife has 16 rai of farm land. She had a disagreement with the person who owns the land bordering her land. Her 16 rai has no road frontage but there is a short government road (150 meters) from the big road that runs directly from the big road to the corner of her property. I told my wife that I thought that the neighbor couldn't keep her out. The wife went to the land office and the land office told her that the neighbor could indeed block the end of the road. Short of throwing gasoline on the dispute by hiring a lawyer, does she have any other more peaceful course of action. If the government road were to be just a few meters longer, there would be no problem. It certainly wouldn't hurt the neighbor because they also use the government road up to and past the corner of my wife's land.

I still don't know what rights the wife has/had but it doesn't matter now. As it turned out, the trouble-maker lady was only farming the land. She has a shack there and gardens along with raising chickens and ducks. After more research my wife found the REAL land owner and bought the property, another 16 rai. Now she has 32 rai with proper legal access. That nasty lady and her family were originally farming all 32 rai and that's why she was angry with my wife. Had she been a pleasant person, she could still be farming that 16 rai. where she has the shack, gardens, chickens and ducks.

My wife got a lot of satisfaction from telling the trouble-making liar lady to pack it up and get off the land. LOL! I think you call that karma.

Hope the nasty old lady peacefully leaves and doesn't try to do something nasty.

This is a small village and everyone knows what has happened. I think half the people in the village are related to my wife. I don't know what the nasty lady could do but if she did anything, things could get ugly for her and her family.
