Swiss man caught for insulting monarchy

BANGKOK: -- A Swiss man was arrested for allegedly insulting the monarchy by painting over images of His Majesty an individual, police said today.

Jufer Oliver Rudolf, 57, was caught Tuesday on surveillance cameras spray painting over portraits of HM an individual with black paint at several locations in Chiang Mai, police Lt. Col. Kittiphan Kamwan said. He was detained Wednesday night and faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted, the police said.

Being a Kiwi and naturally knowing that the all of this world is "All Black" I have to admire his choice of colour, and the mana in his colour choice.

But seriously the guy must have a screw loose!

Thailand with its well deserved respect for the Monarchy is what you learn at kindergarten.

He obviously has some issues to work out, and now may have the time to concentrate on them. WOW, 15 years max pentaly, defacing public property, plus a wee bit of insulting. Definitely not in Kansas.

Actually that one sounds a bit past moron, this guy has got a problem beyond stupid. We might very well be surprised how the Thai's handle this one.

Anyone see anything about it I would love to know the outcome. Deportation is certainly high on my list of geting rid of this problem. Wonder if he will do any jail time beyond that.
