How many long term/life prisoners escape to offend again?JR wrote: There are people who just cannot be allowed out on the streets and the alternative to they being kept in prison for decades cosing heaps of tax money is available. And there is always a risk that a prisoner may escape.

it works by them not being able to re-offend... once they are dead that is certain..wazza wrote:If the Death Penalty works, why are people continuing to be sentenced to Death, it doesn't serve as a deterrent.
Now how can you reach that conclusion? It certainly isn't clear to me. There is absolutely no way we can determine how many would be offenders are deterred by the likely penalty, we only know that some aren't. :-"wazza wrote:They dont reoffend whilst in jail either.
But they just might when eventually released or escape
They argue its a deterant . but that clearly fails .
Really Wazza. So they don't commit assaults (or worse) on other inmates/prison staff like in other countries. Give me 60,000 b a month and an employment visa to remove these scum from this mortal coil and I'd gladly do it. That said I've never killed anyone before so would have to serve an apprenticeship at 52 years.wazza wrote:They dont reoffend whilst in jail either.
