Maaka

if you book a domestic tkt outside Thailand with an agent, u pay through the nose.

Would love to see a Taiwanese EVA hostess waving her frillies in the air with my name on it.

I always end up queuing with the surly Slavs on their way back to the wrong side of Europe. Sorry readers, I forgot to book that remedial equality and diversity training - too busy gawping at Ethernet faults on helicopters.

That's bonkers, it would be like driving down to spend the evening with cheeky, chirpy Cockneys in London before your flight out of LHR.

Far better to spend the evening bouncing cute, Isaan babies on your knee as you sing to 'Qui Motocy' on the karaoke with the brother-in-law. :D

Back in the days of dinosaurs, when I traveled to town nearly every day, often just to get my fix of newsprint, there was a half-page ad in the classified section of the BP, seeking a president for Thai Airlines. I don't remember the exact wording, but one of the many qualifications, listed as: must not have been found guilty of a major criminal act nor served time in prison. I've long wished I kept a copy of that ad to display with my other notable headlines........JFK Shot, Nixon Quits, 9/11, Mission Accomplished. Maybe one of our hoarder members has a copy of that ad gathering mold in a corner of their home somewhere.
So, many many years later, I'm not surprised to see the airline still having difficulty finding a new CEO. I'm not sure if the qualifications remain the same, but if they are, perhaps the powers that be should remove the prison/criminal restriction and open the job up to a wider audience.

Someone told me an RTAF bigwig was in the frame to run the Thai Airways flying circus. Not sure what military people know about business plans.

The Nation report says 3 hubs asap . Inc 2 major tourist destinations. Chiangmai and Phuket.

The rest this winter. High Season lol.

No wonder no applicants based on this business plan. Who would want their name over this decision.

Today I received the current Thai Airways companion (minimum 2 persons traveling together no changes to the itinerary allowed) fare. The domestic flights are from/to Suvarnbhumi and the air fare is A$872 per person Melbourne to Udon Thani, and return.

I reckon it is a good deal, especially as we have never had a bad flight with Thai.

I did the same trip exactly one year ago with Thai and it cost me A$1100.00 the biggest hang up was flight arrived at 5.30am and my connection to UT was not until 1.00pm that is why I changed to Jetstar much cheaper no long wait.

Jetstar dont charge u for O2 yet.

When comparing Jetstar fares dont forget to add on ALL hidden costs. Meals headsets, credit card charges, bags , seat allocations etc....
