Which is another reason not to use Thai Smile! If I booked a flight to BKK for later Aug, thinking I'm going to land in Suvarnaphumi, but end up in Don Muang, I'd not be a happy camper. From all indication in the newspapers....and according to the Bangkok Air rep I spoke with today, Thai Smile is moving to DM in early Aug.

Yes they maybe showing scheduled flights we had a booked flight from swampy to UT on Feb 2 this at 7.05am arrived at 5.45am did not show on the departure board so went to check in all done and dusted did not look for departure gate till we got to the gate branch left/right then looked at the departure time 1.05pm we never informed at any time that this flight no longer existed even though I had flown on before GOODBYE THAI SMILE HELLO BANGKOK AIRWAYS.

I had checked flight schedules a week prior no change at check in we not informed that there was flight to UT at 7.05am really good customer relationship.

No wonder they are loosing money and customers but I guess the staff do not give a rats as they are basically Government employees.

I think the biggest Jetstar cost not included is the Bkk/UT/Bkk fare. Thai's free domestic fare cost applies to quite a few local airports including Khon Kaeng and I think Chiang Mai and Chieng Rai.

According to the girl in the Thai office at the UD airport Udon's expats will get premium service from now on. Udon Swampy is the only route that will NOT change to Don Muang. That leaves us still with two airlines with comfortable direct connection to the rest of the world =D>

Miruku I do not know know whether you are 100% correct about the free part with Thai I have flown quite a few times Melb/Swampy/Phuket on package deals also Sydney direct to Phuket but the first time Melb/Swampy/UT they were charged as separate legs swampy to UT was A$96.00 return 3 months later when I was coming over again and my g/f was coming back with me there costs for her was astronomical that is why I changed to Jetstar/Bkkair and saved a lot of money

Flew back this afternoon, was about 60% full, there was even a Bangkok airways flight for the afternoon, they must have found some customers :-k ,shame it is timed to land after Thaismile so a walk from the tarmac for your luggage.
Enjoyed the business lounge with all its offerings at Swampy using my members card,Bangkok air members had to make do with standing for their food/drinks,no wifi, delayed renovations of their boutique lounge for a further 3 months 8)

Flying to Oz on Monday on TG using 49000 points for a Business Class flight.

But I had to pay 15,400 in airport taxes, TG advised that Business Class flights attract more airport taxes, so it appears that AOT are charging the PAX and not the airline for the Fast / Premium lane for immigration etc

Also the fuel surcharge from 2 years ago, hasn't been reduced in line with fuel charges to date.

I have just checked several dates in November and December. Only Don Mueang flights to and from Udon.
If I fly to Don Mueang, I fly with Nok Air since they are cheaper, but I will probably use Bangkok Air to Suvarnabhumi from now.

Thai airways just send me an e-mail.I have a ticket from BKK to Udon (15/12/2014).
They wrote to me that the departure airport changed.
I have to fly from Don Mueang instead of Suvarnabhumi.

I called the contact center , and they confirmed ... all the flights after 26th of October from BKK to Udon will be move to Don Mueang ....

Not happy at all...

The only good news today are the 10 extra kilos baggage allowance .... for domestic & international flights

Please report Your experience here on UD Map.

How to go to free bus from DM and also when arriving Swampy from abroad.

Availability of seats in buses and luggage handling in buses.

I think this new plan will cost a lot of lost revenue to Thai Airways, as tourist now will focus more on international ticket price, comfort, aircraft types and service.

Time will show but competition is enormous out there.

Kind regards from

I fly Udon to BKK on 1 October with Thai Smile. I was near the airport this morning so took the opportunity to check on the 30kg baggage for domestic flights. At the Thai ticket office they said that is for Thai flights and Thai Smile is still 20 KG.
