Lessons of thai language

Post by lolophanat » January 2, 2007, 4:13 pm

Hi,

Living in Vientiane, I'm intending to improve my thai language abilities (no new year resolutions, it's only that I have more time in the next six months...).
I've tried unsuccessfully till now to find someone in Vientiane.
What I'm looking for is a Thai teacher to give me, let's say 4 to 6 hours of lessons, 2 days per week.
I've seen the posts from AUA but it seems not being practical for me as I would like to make the trip from Vientiane only twice a week for at least 4 hours or more.

I'm not a complete beginner as I've travelled to Thailand for 15 years and I live in Laos.
I have used the Benjawan method (beginner and part of intermediate) and I have an idea of what I want to learn and of a methodology to use.

So if someone can avise me on where I may find a thai teacher, I would be very grateful.

Best wishes for all forum members for 2007 (2550)!

You are going to be hard pressed to find someone that is going to be able to devote 4 hours at a time for private tutoring. That is also a long time to be learning only one thing. You may very well find yourself getting burned out on it all.

However, having said that, I can put you in touch with a highly qualified person to tutor you. You can work out the details with her. PM me for a referral.

Thanks Lee, that is about as fair a things can get. By the way I'm not recommending it, it is just one place you can try, if you want to learn.

My hopes is that AUA will start agian, that one I would recommend.

Not an easy nut to crack, so many different levels of people going to classes.
