Because if I buy a 10 pack of hotdogs, I'll eat 10 hotdogs.

After I posted on this topic yesterday, I went shopping at the Tesco Extra on the Ring Rd.
Their deli department offer a large variety of hot dogs, which can be purchased individually.
So, randerson79 you don't need to buy a whole "10 pack". You can buy one or two of a particular variety, next visit try another style, etc...
When you come across one that you especially enjoy...then there you go.

As a lifelong resident of Chicago, save the last 8 years in Udon, I feel I can weigh in here. Vienna Beef hot dogs are not just at a few hot dog stands, but most of them. If they don't serve Vienna beef, I look for another shop. Nathans are very good also. I, like Jingjai, bring back a cache whenever I go back to Chicago. No ketchup on dogs in Chicago, unless you're a youngster. There are some places that will not put ketchup on a dog, maybe they'll give you a pack or two or ketchup.

As of a few years ago, Chicagoans ate more hot dogs, pizza and twinkies per capita than anywhere else in the U.S. Wheher this is good or bad, I'm not sure, but it works for me.
