Having been castigated for years by the likes of Bob Helm for promoting the darn place ("unmitigated failure" was the term that I believe was used), I now sit rather smuggly in Ubon, Qatar and Fort Lauderdale and watch the praise and justifiable eulogy being heaped upon the Sports Bar.

Can you point me to one post where I ever said that in regards to this establishment Barstool.
I think your memory has deserted you.
I only ever pulled you up on your foolishness about this Bar being the first in Udon with the name Steve in it & your objection to a now defunct Fish & Chip take away wanting to use the name Steve as well.

The Sports Bar in Sampantammit has assumed the moniker of "Steve's Sports Bar" over the three, hard working years he and Neung have been open, therefore someone turning up and calling a commercial project "Steve's ... whatever" is nothing less than blatant, willful plagiarism .. in it's purest form.

Been a tad hectic this week with me Taffy Mate down by the Seaside visiting Various Health Spars enjoying himself, getting tanned up and drinking Health Tonics to Cleanse his Liver and Kidneys, though i think they may be worse for the Trip with the amount of Baht wired to Pattaya Daily, must be expensive Fruit Shakes down there.

The abject failure was in relation to your attempt to PROMOTE the establishment & not to do with the establishment itself - as your post tried to indicate.
I have never wished any enterprise in Udon anything but success...

but 3rd party disingenuous attempts at promotion can be a real turn off probably isn't helpful

Hello Patriot, the annual xmas BBQ is on, funny enough on xmas day, Free to all our Patrons that have supported us throughout 2014, so looking forward to that, but will be busy over the coming days preparing everything for that. I believe you will not be up here for that and you may be in town next week, one of santas helpers said that??

Plenty of football Friday and Saturday and sunday night, Boxing Day test from Australia, darts replays from the world championships all day, and 20/20 cricket each day live from Australia, warm ups for many international players for the coming world cup in February.

Hope to see you soon, and thanks for dropping in yesterday DM, I saw Croc last week counting Setangs and he was mumbling about Ciders, I will grab him next time he comes past the bar pushing his trolley of second hand items he is selling trying to raise funds for something....could be cider pints, not sure.

We Just had our Early Xmas Lunch at the TBar with Steve and Mali.

Excellent Grub, well done Steve and thanks to Mali. 18 of us went in and now suffering from the Food, to much for most of us, although a few got through it, you could not see the plate under the food, Turkey, Pork, Lamb and Beef fantastic and the Soup starter and Desert...mmmmm love me Bread and Butter Pud.

Tomorrow is Xmas day and we will have Roast Pork, Ribs, Sausages, Burgers, Ham, Salads all supplied by Udon Gourmet Meats for all of our Loyal Customers, the Bar Opens 10 am see you there.

Don't Forget the Boxing Day test Match - we will open at 7.00 am for coffee and tea, Bacon and Eggs to catch the 3rd Test Live from the MCG.
