I'm looking for a night-light for steep, dark wood stairs where the light switch is at the bottom, and we sleep up top.
Hard to see, easy to slip.
Could use a torch, but the idea of one or two battery powered night lights appeals to me. Seen them in South Africa at the shops - anyone seen them here, and where please? They are low powered so last quite a long time, but a couple are bright enoug to guide you down safely.
Alternatively, a low-powered garden path edge light might also do the trick.

what about installing a "motion sensor" that switches the light on and off automatically?
very cheap (cheaper than a broken leg repair) and easy to find e.g. at global house.

siamjim - thanks I thought I had replied to you but it seems not! That battery powered night light from Osram is just what I need!
However the links in your post no longer seem to work. Could you check them for me as I want to buy two of the lights and Lazada seems to deliver world-wide. I hope they haven't delisted them from their product list.
Thanks!
