Good dentist + lab required

Post by ZARguy » January 11, 2015, 3:55 pm

I had a 2 bridge unit atached to my dental implants and another front tooth crowned at quite an expense before coming to Thailand. The briodge came out ans got lost somehow in travelling from sSawang to Udon. The other just came out. So I am missing 3 front teeth now
I'm thinking it might be cheaper to have another bridge made here if I can find the right dentist who uses a good lab.

Has anyone had similar work done and can they recommend their dentist?

Personally I recommend a private dental clinic for bridge and crown work over the services provided by the internatinal hospitals.
A couple of years ago I got a few crowns from Watra, a female dentist with study in Khon Kaen and continuing education in Bangkok, who has her clinic directly opposite to the entry Soi (Soi 1) to the Udon Central Bus Station.
I wanted "gold" crowns with ceramic veneering, highly likely you want same in the front teeth area. A few years ago the total costs (dentist as well as laboratory) was about 7.000 bath a piece. Thus the total costs were less than the patient copayments rates in countries with social health insurance.
Complete gold crowns did cost 10.000 Baht simply reflecting the higher price for gold than ceramics.
Please wear suitable clothing when attending a concert in Udon Thani. Slacks and short-sleeved shirts are ok, shorts, tank tops or muscle shirts are not.

waanjai - that sounds like a good dentist.
I had a 2-tooth bridge made, plus a single crown, all of porcelain and meant to be permanent I though.
Cost me over 45,000b (excluding cost of the two implants done much earlier) as my Medical Aid doesnt pay for bridgework and implants only for 2 crowns in a 2 or 3 year cycle! SI I paid the lot! The prices you are tlaking sound good as I cannot afford to pay the same all over again in South Africa.

I have a strong byte and grind my teeth night and day so am hell on crowns whatever they either come out or I break them. Been hassling with my teeth for nearly 60 years now!

Anyway I contacted a dentist at the B hospital and we went through to have it re-cemented in but it had just vanished with the ZIP packet it was in! Never to be seen again!

As I am not in Udon, do you perhaps have her number so I can phone about an app?

[Dr. Saranya is gentle according to bumper]

What work did you have done and were you happy? Did it involve making a bridge or crowns? Pricewise, good?

Wattra Dental Clinic has: 042-343057

I understand that Your bruxism suggests a bridge instead of single crowns. But ask for their advice too.
In general, prosthodontic dental care is in Thailand not so common than in parts of Europe and America. So it is essential to have gotten good training by the big dental materials factories producing the materials for prosthetics like 3M, ESPE or Kulzer etc. that go beyond the contents of dental medicine studies at the universities. I have seen her certificates she got from special courses held in Bangkok by these.

If she would not feel highy competent to help you, then she will refer you to someone else. She does this e.g. in cases of a need for periodontic care. She is cooperating with a specialist in periodontics.

Have any idea of her name? Is she the only dentist on staff?
Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

Her first name is Wattra.
Nowadays there are two dentist's rooms - modern standard. I have seen another dentist there too. Don't know her name.

re Rakfun clinic: both female dentists have DDS, Chintana also has Grad.Dip.in Clin.Sc.(Prosthodontic), both do bridges and implants. Saranya made 3-unit bridge for my wife (2 crowns +1 pontic), appears to be 1st class work, about THB30,000 if I remember correctly. I expect to see Chintana again soon for a crown.

After a tooth extraction of an anterior tooth two month ago, I had today the first session for a cantilever bridge.

Ceramic veneering in the front is self-evident. It will cost me 9.500 Baht incl. everything. Where?
Wattra Dental Clinic. :D
