Meat Pies
T/F price list from 2009 included in this link provided by waanjai. I'm sure prices have increased since then but it provides a general idea of what might be expected. Some items might be considerably more some may not have increased much.

As an indication, and based on my fading memory, when I last bought sirlion from the T/F shop on Thahan Rd (a couple of months ago) it was about TBH400/kg.

MR pratt , your just another guy that struggles on small income. we try to keep prices down and I always try to do a good deal for regular customers. it's cost me 100,000 's to be able to produce pies for the local market, and export, "perhaps even the wrong forum?" ..perhaps your even the wrong planet. maybe you should remember sponsors pay their good money so you can have someone to talk too .without us sponsors you would be a lonely person. seems like the talk about meat pies has gone sideways here, people that have never even made a pie in their life are commenting on how to make a pie...or the price of ingredients...or the method of making a pie . sorry but how the f@@k did it come to this. oh yes...people with no real idea , with agendas of there own, and far too much time on their hands... HAVE A NICE DAY MR PRATT.jackspratt wrote:Are you on the wrong thread ..... perhaps even the wrong forum?papafarang wrote:in 1903 it was 2 and 6 pence , for 2 portion cod , in 2015 it costs more

Very eloquent Dean - but WTF has it got to do with the price of cod, in 1903?papafarang wrote:MR pratt , your just another guy that struggles on small income. we try to keep prices down and I always try to do a good deal for regular customers. it's cost me 100,000 's to be able to produce pies for the local market, and export, "perhaps even the wrong forum?" ..perhaps your even the wrong planet. maybe you should remember sponsors pay their good money so you can have someone to talk too .without us sponsors you would be a lonely person. seems like the talk about meat pies has gone sideways here, people that have never even made a pie in their life are commenting on how to make a pie...or the price of ingredients...or the method of making a pie . sorry but how the f@@k did it come to this. oh yes...people with no real idea , with agendas of there own, and far too much time on their hands... Enough to end this farce which is what it has deteriorated into. Contents of pie although I said irrelevant is also important, but as a customer for the past ??? years, I have always found the contents of pies to be tasty from the various makers and suppliers here, apart from one which will remain nameless. Steak and Kidney has in fact steak and kidney inside, as does Chicken and Mushroom the correct ingredients. Cost IS irrelevant if you can make it better and cheaper go ahead, but stop knocking those that make a living making them and selling them to culinary disadvantaged people like me.
The fact that this post ever started amazed me, there have been on the odd occasion pies that came from who knows where but do not and never will meet the Khun Paul taste test let alone anything else.
As a customer I TRUST the people that make the pies I eat 100% , if I didn't I would not buy them any more and would also damn well say why to the maker.
Anyone with a problem with that please do not hesitate to email me at Chefs great@tasty.com.

Boy,who would have thought that what started out as a review of a humble pie would end up being 8 pages of angst and counter angst.
I was of the obviously, mistaken view that members would be interested in a new and to my mind excellent product ,my other mistake was thinking that people would be mature enough to try the product and compare rather than running off at the mouth .

I think the majority of the normal members appreciate an honest discussion on , in this case, meat pies, the problem comes in when those with a vested interest either by making or selling them join in trying to convince others that they have the best product, little realising that by doing so they are in fact deterring the uncommitted from even trying their's, as surely we all know , self praise is no recommendation. :-"ozzydom wrote:Boy,who would have thought that what started out as a review of a humble pie would end up being 8 pages of angst and counter angst.

You know there is nothing worse than a self opinionated person trying to convince us that their thinking is correct. On this post whether you like it or not is the humble pie and who makes one or even sells opne is purely academic. A Pie is a PIE, content/looks and taste all important, if the manufacturer or even the seller boast about their pies good on them, it will at least make one try to see if their boast is genuine or like so many posters on here, so much hot air.
The argument about content and p;rice is ludicrous as is the point about the makers expounding their wares good taste etc-. Surely most of the adults on this forum can make up their own minds instead of being harangued by those that think they know best. My stomach,my taste buds determine what and where I buy not some old fart who attempts to tell me otherwise.or for that matter tells me how I should be thinking, my mother used toi do that when I was in nappies, I have outgrown them so she stopped , a surrogate parent is not what I want from posters. OK

Unquestionably the best pie on the planet are the Steak Bakes sold at Greggs Bakers throughout England.
They use cheap steak and make a truly delicious pie and sell thousands every day. Tender pieces of steak in a delicious fairly thick gravy and perfect pastry. This one is for the flaky pastry lovers , but not too flaky that it falls to bits.

If I wasn't under the influence of a few a tinnies and feeling lazy, I'd be emailing some professor at Harvard with this case study.jackspratt wrote:Thank you for backing your assertion up with a case study.Khun Paul wrote:You know there is nothing worse than a self opinionated person trying to convince us that their thinking is correct.
