Villa Market on the move?

Post by RLTrader » February 12, 2015, 1:16 pm

If they move near Airport, I would stop by weekly. Where they are at present, I stop by every blue moon and it would be the same for UDT. That said was just there, think Mon or Tue and saw or heard nothing of moving. Think I was 1 of maybe 4 customers.

Villa Market on the move?

Post by parrot » March 7, 2015, 7:20 pm

While at the checkout at Villa today......I inquired.......the girl said that Villa would open in UD Town, perhaps close to McD, but not certain. She said the existing store would remain open........so looks like Udon may have 2 Villas!
I'm not sure if this has already been posted.....but the link for Villa promotions is at
http://www.villamarket.com/promotions/# ... arch-page1

Any fanciers of Hershey's chocolate......the slightly rectangular blocks of chocolate, 3 to a pack, in a double pack for 45 Baht. Buy one pack (6 blocks), get one pack (another 6 blocks) free. No problem with the dates.

It couldn't be that another franchise has been established.

don't be silly , you don't take in much do you. villa at landmark say they are opening ANOTHER shop in UD town. its called relocation . due to the fact they paid rent up front in landmark they might as well keep it open until the rent needs renewing  or business wise do you think they should close down altogether, lose customers, lose rent until they open their new shop

Normally when someone operates a franchise, which Villa Market in Udon is, it allows you to open one shop or one store, not more then one or multiple stores.

Whatever the reasons they are opening another shop near to where everybody goes in the evening , sensible move will make going to Villa market a whole lot easier in the day at night-time would be a pain

there' s a village idiot everywhere. RELOCATION, to you that means MOVING. same people, same franchise. like me I relocated, not closed down, just moved  . I'm sure the parent company would love to have 10 villa markets in udon, but the people that have the franchise here in udon have a contract that don't allow that to happen. I will say it again MS ,read and understand. villa market are relocating to where their customers want for ease of access, now the sensible business plan would be to prepare your new outlet BEFORE you close the old one . it's called business planning. your reading skills are up to scratch, but comprehension skills seem lacking, anyone got some coloured crayons, draw a picture for him

People working at Villa Landmark said the Villa at Landmark is not going to close down but that there will be 2 Villa Markets in Udon. Parrot was told the same. That is not relocation get your colored crayons out. Now unless you know more then their customer relations officer I'll take her word for it. 2 Villa's competing can only benefit the customer. Maybe someone will stock it with pies and pasties and sausage rolls other then Lady Pies.

Villa Market on the move?

Post by papafarang » March 8, 2015, 12:43 pm

ok I asked if I could put my stock in one of my own freezers that will stock only papa farangs goods as every time I stocked them my goods just ended up buried underneath other stock in the landmark shop , they said no point as they are RELOCATING to ud where I will be placing a dedicated papa farangs freezer. ok understand now ?. or perhaps you think it would make good business sense to keep a freezer of mine in landmark that has less and less footfall and won't be there as soon as the rent runs out? or all the post saying villa won't last, and now their expanding ?.
lets put in simple bar terms. if I had a bar which I just paid up 1 years rent, but wanted to own a bar in a different location, you think I would be a good idea to walk out and loose my rent and deposit I just paid. ? or just use the rent up while I prepared the next location ?

The place is becoming more and more worthless! I cannot understand why if you get a product that sells out in a couple of days it takes months to replenish. Sausage patties are an example. They sell out quickly but have not been in stock for months. I was in Bangkok last week and Villa there had plenty. Many others I could mention.

I just sent an e-mail to Villa for all the good it will do. My point is if I go into Villa and 90% or more of what they have is stuff I can easily find at Tesco or Big C why do I need to go there?

As I said to the manager the other day "Now you will have two stores with nothing in either?"

The Nevada complex former IT mall beside UD Town is empty and undergoing renovation.. I'd speculate that would provide ample floor space for a Villa Market plus they do have a deck parking garage..

Villa Market on the move?

Post by new2thailand » March 31, 2015, 10:16 am

Any updates in Villa moving? I live the other side of Loei and go to the Villa once every couple months to stock up. When I was there in late January, the manager said they were moving in a couple months to a new location.

When I first discovered the Villa market, I saw farangs clearing off shelves completely of items. I questioned a Brit about why and he told me that some items only appear irregularly and, when they arrive, people clean them out quickly. He said many expats had purchased large, deep freezers for just that purpose.

I have found too, the Villa markets that are part of a shopping mall have to wait until the mall opens before they can open. Like the Top Market on Pattaya Klang and second road. The mall opens at 11AM so the Top Market has to wait too. The Villa in Pattaya has an independent entrance and opens at 7AM. The Villa in Hua Hin also opens early as it has an independent entrance as well.

Visting the Villa website, it's been updated and it sucks. No more maps and store phone numbers. Is there a new CEO of Villa?

Was in Villa yesterday and the freezer section half empty as it has been for over a month or two. You would think some of the local vendors would stock it with their products. Lady pies restocked with a large selection. Chill section as well as dry goods well stocked.

Lady pies well stocked, because no one buys the awful things. The new store is on its way soon according to the staff. only 1 freezer empty on Saturday, may be broken down, plenty in all the others.

The last time I was in UD Town, last week, I noticed that the large central building (opposite the Tesco Lotus building 'side door') that used to house the Book shop/Business supplies company was completely empty & being refurbished.
Could this be the new location for Villa???
