Nine British medical students and doctors are feared to have travelled to Syria to work in areas controlled by Islamic State militants.

The group, all in their late teens or early 20s, had been studying medicine in Sudan.

Some of their relatives, who have travelled to the Turkish-Syrian border, told the BBC they were gravely concerned about their welfare.

The medics are believed to have entered Syria more than a week ago.

I make no apologies whatsoever in wishing that these lot who chose to live by the sword, and work amongst militant's, die by the sword. Go 'downstairs' when they meet their destiny because I doubt there are many virgins there.

Don't forget to hire some buses or trains as well Aardy. I think you'll be sending many of them back to the Australian suburbs where they were born and grew up with other Australian youngsters. If Jake Bilardi / Jihadi Jake was still alive you might be able to put him on the train to Craigieburn in Melbourne.

It never fails to make me smile, as to the fact that it is always the relatives that are concerned or asking why did the authorities allow this to happen.
Simple answer is that over the Age of consent, adults at any age are free to do what they want, so if the relatives are concerned or worried, maybe just maybe they should heve been better at being relatives, especially if they are the parents or very close relatives.

I am sorry but I cannot find it in me to be concerned over seemingly intelligent people making the wrong probably stupid decisions, even if those decisions were made for the right reasons. as in thsi case Humanitarian Assistance. Which part of the word Humanitarian do the ISIL understand, , judging by their recent actions. Not one syllable of it i think, so why in God's name help them except to meet their destiny, with a little help from an AK 47 or something similar or bigger. .

I am struggling to find the connection between the title of this thread, and the story linked in the OP.

But I imagine it would bring a smile to Tony Abbotts and George Brandis' faces - an excuse to bring in even more unnecessary repressive laws (aided by the lily-livered "opposition"), and try and strike more fear into the minds of a gullible Australian public.

After all, "security" is about the only positive Abbott has going for him at the moment.

Why are the Coalition and Labor both embracing this overreaching law? Perhaps they are afraid that if there is a terrorist attack at some point in the future, the other side will be able to point the finger, and accuse them of having taken the threat of terrorism lightly.

love em or hate em aussi is the lucky country.amazing free social services in all departments.doc hospital education etc etc etc.to lazy to work no worries mate in aussi u still get a fair govt wage.beaches and fishing is amazingly good .wonder if thats why half the world wants to live there
