Nong khai has many such places going by the title of "restaurants".Just ask any samlor driver to take you to "larn aharn me poo ying Laos".You are asking for restaurants with Laos girls.

thanks for responding! Seems like it indeed be low key, fun destination..

2 more questions:

what is a comfortable guest friendly hotel in Nong Khai?
Is there a good Internet Cafe, perhaps with Network cable connection or wireless in connection in Nong Kahi?

Decent hotels include, the pantawee & prajak bungalows, there are plenty of others but I know these 2 pretty well and neither have ever let me down, just beware of the shreiking katooey in the pantawee , dont worry she/he aint that bad.

As for a night out, theres a few places in town, my favourites being the meeting place & bar nana (if you can handle the noise)...

Have a good trip :)

No problems, also I forgot to mention that if you stay at the pantawee, you get a pc connected to the net in your room, so this would save you from needing to find an internet cafe ;)

Metta, you will be right in the middle of town there.A great place to eat,but not attractive to look at ,is a restaurant called Dee Dee on Prakak road not far from the hotel. The food is excellent and very cheap and the place is always rammed out with locals.Must be forty tables and all full. The food is a mix of Thai and Chinese. The chicken with cashew nuts is the best i have ever had.

I wont be, unfortunately, but Marcus (businessman) lives there so he might be available.

Thanks for the offer of dinner though :) but maybe next time...
