Currently being promoted on the ground floor of Central Plaza Udon Thani is the MG3 hatchback car which looks a nice little hatchback at a reasonable price.

Have been weighing up a few small cars last 3 months, Suzuki, Honda HRV, Yaris and now the MG.

Went for a test drive from their show room last week and was impressed. Was allowed to take it quite a few Km's out over the ring road and down the Sakhonakon Rd and give it a going over. Nippy and quick, brakes ok and the basic interior fine for the price,
I don't think the salesman is used to a falang thorough acceleration through gears and brake check at speed. Auto and semi auto change up and down is good with a slight lag though. He was a bit surprised but Ok, and gave the customary Thai smile. :D

Have all but chosen the MG hatch, 2 tone with some extras (the model under the top model). On road costs included and insurance.
All for just under 600K.
Not trying to sell it to anyone, but just giving an honest appraisal.
Go have a test drive if you in the market.

By the way, depreciation as mentioned on another thread has never been in my citeria to buying a car. I usually intend to keep it not sell it until it is past it's reason for having it.

I tried to find the dealership location in Udon through Google but couldn't find it Barney. Maybe I'm losing the plot. By the way I saw a large foreigner sitting in one in Central yesterday and I don't think they are particularly designed for taller or larger built people.

I dont think there is an MG dealership in Udon,as yet,and that could be your problem.
Theres over half a dozen dealerships in Bangkok and one in Saraburi and one in Prachuap Khiri Khan,of all places !
But under 600k seems an excellent price for such a good model.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Socksy

I'm not tall or a large built person, but I do have big bones for a little bloke. :D
it will be for the missus anyway,
easy to push around the Central carpark.

The dealership is on the road from the city roundabout to Makro road, whatever road that is called. On the left almost opposite the Honda bike dealer. Close to the rounabout end.
MG's parked out the front and in the showroom. No MG6 on display only MG3's

That's it Pomps.
There is a showroom there and it is classed as temporary

I was able to test drive straight out of town over the ringroad overpass and onto the sakhonakon road.

A regular customer came in the Tap last night in his brand new MG3 , 1.5cc looks very nice both inside and out and struck me as more solid that other similar models by that i mean the bodywork and paneling .. he paid approx 500k for it .

Temp dealership as already stated on Poshri road but a main dealership is under construction i think on the KK / H2 road .
Claret n Blue all way thru .. Up the Iron

May become big in Thailand due to the factory being in Rayong keeping prices down. Could be interesting on the spares and/or repairs front.

Thats good that they are going to have a permanent dealership in Udon.
If they hadnt it could have been a nuisance with servicing, spare parts etc.
Nice looking car at a very affordable price.
