Yeah, sadly your Non O is now invalid with you not getting a re-entry permit. :(

I'm no expert but maybe the following would work....other posters feel free to disagree ;)

1.Get a 60 day Tourist Visa in Perth for Thailand.
2.Before the 60 days is up cross the Friendship Bridge and get a single entry 90 day Non Immigrant O visa in Vientiane,Laos.
3.Extend the Non Immigrant O for one year on the basis of retirement,in Udon.

Thats just my thoughts :-k
Note if you are married to a Thai you can get a multi entry Non Immigrant O visa in Savannakhet,Laos.

Edit update: The people who would really know are the guys on Thai Visa....someone like Ubon Joe....maybe consider putting a post on there ?
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

I am not sure why you opened a new thread, with exactly the same heading as this one:

http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/p ... 37392.html

If you have a Thai spouse you can apply for an O visa by mail to the Thai Embassy in Canberra.

Go to the website:

http://canberra.thaiembassy.org/visa.html

and click on the "Spouse Visa" link under Types of Visas.

That will open a pdf file, which gives you all the information you need.
