UPVC Windows

Post by rober507 » June 25, 2015, 1:50 pm

Guys,
I'm about to start building a house and looking for information on UPVC windows. I've had a look at Watsadu and Global but wasn't happy with the fitting of the mosquito screens in the windows as it was very loose.
What other options do I have in Udon, Nong Bua or Khon Kaen?
Regards,
Stuart

http://europvc.co.th/

In former times builders got Building bricks from Phuket, windows and doors from Pattaya, if the local market could not deliver.
Please wear suitable clothing when attending a concert in Udon Thani. Slacks and short-sleeved shirts are ok, shorts, tank tops or muscle shirts are not.

rober507,

As per waanjai's post above I have gone with europvc for my house. They will quote your widow, mine is quoted delivery from down south with a 4 man team and a foreman to come and fit when required.
Give them a call to at least compare with what you have found in udon.

The ones on my house were custom made by the window fitters/suppliers
Only thing i got against them is they put the netting on the inside of the window frame
To me this is back to front
In Oz they are on the outside and include security mesh as well
Plus they fixed for security reasons

Thanks for the info. I visited E&K in Udon today and was obviously happier with the quality of the Windsor windows. I'm now waiting for a quote and will take it from there.

Stuart This might be useful for your budgets. I have a cost spreadsheet if you are interested. PM me or email me and I will send it to you

Late last year, I sought quotations from a number of Companies for a combination of UPVC Doors & Windows: consisting of 2 No Pairs of Casement Style Doors - each pair 1200 x 2200 mm, plus a Main Entrance Door 3000 x 2200 mm comprising four equal door sashes (nominal 750 x 2200 mm each - Folding or Sliding), plus 2 No x External Sliding Door Assemblies each 2000 x 2200 mm and * No Casement Windows 700 mm wide x 1800 mm high - hinged one side. All total up 30.76 m2

The price per m2 for the Supply, Delivery and Installation (excluding VAT) of the UPVC Frames (some in white colour and others in Black or Wood Grain finish), all with 6 mm (3+3) laminated clear glass, was
VIGNET TB 4,875
VEKA TB 7,800 White and Other Timber Grain Colors
EK DECORATE WINDSOR TB 9,490 (White or Black)
EUROPVC TB 9,130 (White) to TB 10,760 (Black or Wood Grain)
HEVTA TB 11,837 (Didn't bother to ask about colour options)

Granted some of their profiles may be better than the other, so have to look at this in the showrooms, but all were priced with the same Laminated glass. One manufacturer/supplier was local to Udon Thani and the other four from, Chiang Mai, BKK & Pattaya. Transport costs were insignificant and the labour cost to install was reasonably consistent across the five prices.

VIGNET is a local supplier in Udon Thani near BIG C near the Flyover
EK DECORATE WINDSOR is a local supplier in Udon Thani near the other BIG C heading away from the AIRPORT towards TESCO
VEKA, based in BKK but for ne they had the best range and system

PS: I am building in Udon Thani (south side) and will be back in Udon on 16 July. Just finishing off the house at present. Bought a lot from Thaiwatsadu and also from HOME-PRO in Udon Thani

Thanks pipoz. We already have a quote from Ek which I'm quite happy with but it's still 4 months before we will need the windows so I'll keep looking at other options.
