International arrivals at Udon

Post by valentine » January 25, 2007, 9:31 am

The flights from Singapore have been operating over two weeks now and I was wondering if any one has entered Udon that way. If so, what was the immigration and customs like? same as B/K or easier, harder? :?:

Probably the same as BKK - and the are also probably counting the number of cigarettes you are bringing in from duty free. :-)

Wouldn't even need one hand to do that, and I mean ciggies not packets.

Is immigration only open for the Sing flight or can I transit in BKK and go through immigration in Udon at any time?

Thought Perth -Singapore was commencing next month (March?)

Flown the Singapore - Udon route twice now & let me say such a hassle free journey compared to the "From anywhere to the BKK cluster^% to Udon" via Nok or one of the others.

Felt kinda weird not having to negotiate the myriad of all those wonderful "design features" which the "new" airport in BKK is now world famous for.

Enjoy!

Perth - Singapore does start in March, Carlos, but initially 4 days a week.
They will be flying 7 days a week in November.
Glad to hear it's less of a drama than BKK.

Tiger are on the prowl down under. Announced today they are broadening their travel throughoout OZ if OKed by the Feds. This will encourage a range of flight options from more OZ capitals to Singapore/Udon. Looking good.

When I flew out of Udon Jan 4 the process was quite easy. Being a small airport everything is close at hand. Heck of a lot easier. ( I was flying to BKK, not Singapore)

All baggage, including that belonging to locals seeing people depart/arrive, is screened. Then it was a simple matter to book in and wait. :D
