Looks like a good neat small home to me. Just like the kit homes you get back in Australia.
They came at a basic prices for the essentials and add on were extra. This house could use the same concept,
If you want more just put it in or on to your own budget. If this is a 600k house then I reckon for another 200k you would get insulation and some soundproofing to bring the volume back from rock and roll to easy listening Frank Sinatra, plus an extra power outlet.

Great little house, if that's all you can afford or all you want to spend in Thailand then why not! Don't understand the negativity, takes all sorts I suppose.

For 500,000 baht you won't get a professional builder to even look at it.

DIY - yes.

Professional builder (as we know it) - no chance.

He did say he was after a reliable house builder not a professional.
I am sure there are reliable house builders in the village circuit.

Vidmaster did you find some one, the end of November is approaching?

Not knocking it, but I'd suggest looking at the 600,000 baht house thread for an indication of what you can get for twice the 500,000 budget - that started as 300,000, went to 600,000, and I think its now at over 900,000.

500,000 is really pushing it as a budget for a house if you're looking for a 'reasonable' builder.

I'd also suggest that for that sort of budget its better value to rent in Issan, where you can very easily find million baht plus houses for rent for 20,000 or so a year.

yes John, if you are talking about my 600,000bt house, now 900,000bt, that gives some indication of basic dwelling...some say they could do same for cheaper if had own truck and shopped around,,,

I might add that 270,000bt of that 900,000bt is the builders and sub contractors fees..its all inclusive
