Scunthorpe 0-0 Gillingham
Altrincham 0-0 Macclesfield
Welling 1-1 Cheltenham
Worcester City 0-0 FC United of Manchester
Rangers 4-0 Dundee
The Gills are in the race for promotion (3rd. place) but were very lucky to come away with any points. They managed only 1 shot - to the Iron's 13.
Macclesfield still couldn't win a game this year & this time it was against another side with winning issues - Altrincham. With both sides so out of form it was little surprise that it was a dour, goaless affair. That result was enough to push the hosts into a relegation spot though.
Top of the table playing bottom but 1. There was only ever going to be 1 result. :D When Welling scored 1 minute into injury time it looked like that would be a home win. Somehow Town managed to finally do something they had not looked like doing all game & scored to nick a point. 2 points clear at the top, 9 to play...Is it enough??
A rare goaless match that involved FC United of Manchester. It keeps them 3 points away from the zone but it is way too close to call as to who will take the drop.
With the Championship title theirs to lose Rangers took up the challenge for the cup. It was all too a one sided affair They were 1 nil up almost from the kick off & although the visitors managed to keep them at bay for the rest of the first half it was a struggle. That was confirmed in the second half as Dundee just couldn't live with the pressure Rangers put them under.

Rangers totally outplayed Dundee who had only one real chance. Without two cup tied regulars and top scorer Martyn Waghorn. It could easily have been six against a team who held the SPL leaders, Celtic to a 0-0 draw at the 'midden' last week.

The Emirates FA Cup - Fifth Round
Hull 0-4 Arsenal
Hull made it a bit too easy for The Gunners to progress to a meeting with Watford.
I guess they have bigger fish to fry with the battle at the top of the Championship to be overly disappointed by the result.
Scunthorpe 2-0 Doncaster
The Iron do Doncaster no favours at all as they inflicted their 7th. loss in 8 games. They are now just 2 points out of the drop zone.
The Iron continue to jog along nicely towards the season's close. They must take care though as they are currently in 11th. but only 5 points away from a very, very unlikely play off spot!!

Friday 11th March 2016
The Emirates FA Cup - Sixth Round

Reading 0-2 Crystal Palace
Two late goals give Palace the honour of being the first club to reach the semi-finals of the Cup for 21 years. It was a bit tough on Reading who had frustrated the visitors right up to the 85th. minute. Then Jake Cooper pulled back Yannick Bolasie in the box. Converted penalty & a man down - game over..
fixtures.png
Will a Sunday evening defeat finally put an end to the failed vanG experiment??
Most United supporters will be hoping so.. :D

Also last night..
Rangers 3 - 1 Morton
Rather surprisingly Rangers were behind in this fixture. The lead didn't last until half time though & Kenny Millier scored just either side of half time to give them the lead.
15 points clear of now second placed Falkirk who will be at home to Rangers next Friday night. Hibs are a further 2 points back in third, but do have a game in hand.
There is no league game for them this weekend as they have the little matter of the Scottish League Cup Final against Ross County on Sunday..

Shrewsbury V Scunthorpe
Cheltenham V Woking
Gateshead V Forest Green
Macclesfield V Lincoln City
FC United of Manchester V AFC Fylde

Diego Costa - what is it with these Johnny Foreigner footy players biting people? The Premiership would not be the poorer without players like him.

Shrewsbury 2-2 Scunthorpe
Cheltenham 4-0 Woking
Gateshead 0-1 Forest Green
Macclesfield 1-1 Lincoln City
FC United of Manchester 1-2 AFC Fylde
In the battle of the S's the home side went into a first half lead but then had to score a late, late goal to rescue a point. The Iron are in 13th. place but now 7 points outside a play off place with 10 to go.

A jog in the park for Town as former Woking striker, Dan Holman, nets all 4 goals. 2 points ahead with 8 to play, this looks like it will go down to the wire.

An early goal was enough to Forest Green to see off Gateshead. They rather went off the boil after that though.

Macclesfield still can't get get a 3 pointer but this was an entertaining enough encounter that both sides had chances to win.

With 11ish games to go in the Vanarama National League North league United slip to 18th. place & only 3 points from the drop. With some sides still having to play 4 more games than others it is difficult to ascertain just how much in danger they are. 3 points soon would be welcome but were never very likely against second in the table Fylde.

Very sexual bite......I reckon there may have been a bit of tongue involved
Costa definitely fancies a bit of man action
Not that there's anything wrong with that :D
