Hi - I'm new to this forum! Been living for about 5 years in Thailand (BKK and Phuket). My Issan wife and I own a hotel in Phuket near to the airport. Some people may know me from the TV forum.
My wife is rather ill and the doctors have recommended that we relocate to her home town of Nong Khai. She does not require to stay in hospital, but rather to convalesce (spelling?) at home or with a small business.
Luckily, I can get some managers to look after our Phuket hotel.
I would appreciate any advice about finding rental accomodation in NK. In particular, it would be good to find a small guesthouse/hotel business that we could lease. This will give me and my wife something to occupy our time
Any advice is much appreciated.
Simon

I've been able to rent a very nice house right by the river in the center of NK. So I have some more questions
The house is on the cable TV service. Does anyone have the contact details for this cable TV company?
I'm advised that ADSL from TT&T is much better than that from TOT. apparently, this house location allows me to choose either provider. Can anyone comment re both providers?
Is there a gym in NK?
Is there a public swimming pool?
What other facilities are there that could be useful, such as a library (Thai language), or whatever?
Thanks for any advice!

I can only comment on the ADSL situation.
TT&T would probably be the better option because it has fewer subscribers.
However, having said that, bear in mind that both companies actually share the same lines, and everything dealing with the Internet here in Thailand goes through a central system in Bangkok which filters your final destination. So, if the network is busy at that location, then you will experience problems none the less.

Pauls exfalang wife now has no business interest in the Meeting Place and it is run by the new partner ie myself
it may have been dead when i first took over but give it a try next time you are passing- and introduce yourself if we havn't already met.
while not wanting to advertise the place too much as i am not sure if its allowed on this forum we are now a very friendly bunch and i have a nice happy team of girls here.
