Billionaire politician: Summer of Trump

Post by GT93 » April 18, 2016, 12:23 pm

I'm tempted to follow Drumpf on Twitter. I don't follow anyone on Twitter. One of my favourites was Drumpf on the IRS:

“I unfairly get audited by the I.R.S. almost every single year.”

I guess they think Drumpf's income tax returns are likely to be a bit dodgy. :(

Perhaps Cruz needs to rethink his policy of getting rid of the IRS?

Gee that would be a good idea for the US not...

Giving the IRS the power to prosecute was one of the worst ideas in history!

I agree with your 2nd and 3rd sentences Lone Star. Jsell 50, are you suggesting the payment of tax should be voluntary? Bye bye to having a military, free education, police, the FBI, roads built by the government etc. Hello anarchy / the wild west. ISIS might have reached Thailand by now? OK, that last one is a wind up.

More than a few of Drumpf's business ventures suggest he's as slippery as a $3 note. I'm not surprised the IRD would have him up the audit list. I think we'll never see his tax returns because the income returned wouldn't be that flash for such a big talker. I think they would be short fingered returns. :D

I was pleased to see those with New York values kick Cruz in the arse today. It's strange to see a significant politician sledge and sneer at the values of his country's largest and most important city. Perhaps he should move to Moscow.

I never said they wouldn't/shouldn't be prosecuted. I said it shouldn't be done by the IRS. They have targeted and ruined lots of ordinary people and some valuable businesses. Even if the parties involved were found innocent, the legal fees were killers. It also led to things like these:

For me, the THREAT of the IRS is good, just like the threat of a $250 speeding ticket x 2 in a school zone is incentive to stay within the limit. Likewise, the Treasury Department requirement to report overseas' bank accounts in excess of $10k. Good for the country, no problem for me. I don't see the IRS going away in my lifetime.

Charlie Rose interviews Obama in an hour long show at https://charlierose.com/videos/26938?autoplay=true

How interesting it'd be to see Rose pose the same questions to the other candidates in individual interviews.

I don't like threats from anyone, especially threats of prosecution with no real proof of wrongdoing. I also don't like an agency being used to threaten people or companies for political reasons. And yes, the IRS has been used by both parties for this, most recently by the current administration.

The CIA got out of control a number of years ago. That led to them getting their teeth pulled and they are now under scrutiny for everything that they do. Good or bad is a matter of opinion. I feel that the federal government is incompetent and the president is a moron.

In my uninformed, completely nonsensical, opinion,( :-" ;) ; ) it has always been the situation that Trump has a snowball's chance in hell of being nominated/elected. To think otherwise would demonstrate the ridiculous belief that this uniquely American process functions democratically to ensure the will of the American people is served, rather than the all powerful cartel which really controls America, behind a puppet President...

Haha! That is funny...seems I heard something about that somewhere.... Please tell us the name of the all-powerful cartel, Mister Mathusalah.
Well Rick, I did write: "In my uninformed, completely nonsensical opinion....." :-" :-" \:D/ \:D/
Incidentally, did you pick up on Obama's less than subtle very public instructions to the CIA,( in his most recent "interview" obviously set up for just that purpose), what it's findings should be? Marks the official start of the "Clinton Whitewashgate", a replica of Watergate, but in reverse, in that Watergate was about removing a criminal from the Presidency, whereas CWG is about ensuring the installation of one! :-" :-$ =;
That's better. Such comments are not taken lightly by Emmanuel Goldstein and the High Council. Remember this: nothing goes unseen!

As far as your Obama and Hillary question....time will tell. How much time...???

I believe if Trump becomes the Republican nominee that he will be all over Clinton. She has made so many mistakes as Secretary of State. Not to mention when her husband was pres. And before she met her husband she wasn't much of A lawyer.Everyone knows she'll be an Obama clone.People don't want that.

First, Our Resources Are Overextended
Secondly, our allies are not paying their fair share.
Thirdly, our friends are beginning to think they can’t depend on us.
Fourth, our rivals no longer respect us.
Finally, America no longer has a clear understanding of our foreign policy goals.

This will change when I am president.

First, we need a long-term plan to halt the spread and reach of radical Islam.
Secondly, we have to rebuild our military and our economy.
Finally, we must develop a foreign policy based on American interests.

These are my goals, as president.
