i believe the deal fell through on all 3 players, something to do with personal terms and lack of ambition on evertons behalf :D Everton have since pressed on and proven their ambition buy tying Darren Gibson down on a new deal and buying 780.000 litres of blue paint for their decrepit stadium

To be fair,Darren Gibson is a bloody good painter and decorator and will soon have Goodison Park up to a similar standard as Tranmere Rovers,Prenton Park,for the clubs new owners ! =;

LIVERPOOL MEDICAL FOR WIJNALDUM

Georginio Wijnaldum will travel to Merseyside later this morning to undergo a medical which is expected to last two days.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Liverpool have offered the Newcastle midfielder a five-year contract at Anfield.

This comes after the Magpies, according to Sky sources, accepted a fee in the region of £25m for the Netherlands international.

Quite happy with this signing. He's better than what we have already and if Lucas goes the other way,not a bad price.

I must say I am surprised that he is the odds on favourite to take over at Sunderland !
He was sacked from there a few years back with the club struggling near the bottom of the Premiership.

Steve Bruce: Hull City manager leaves newly promoted club

Steve Bruce has left his role as manager of newly promoted Premier League club Hull City.
The 55-year-old, who did not take training on Friday, had said earlier this summer he was uncertain of his future at Hull, who are up for sale.
A breakdown in his relationship with vice-chairman Ehab Allam contributed to his departure.
He was interviewed by the Football Association for the England job, which Sam Allardyce has now taken.
Bruce is odds-on favourite with some bookmakers to return to former club Sunderland and replace Allardyce.

This would be a big blow to The Spuds if he was to leave but I think he will stay.....

Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is to be approached about the vacant Argentina coach's position, according to reports in the country.
National football association (AFA) chief Armando Perez is to fly to Spain to speak to Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone and Sevilla's Jorge Sampaoli.
And while in Europe he will sound out Pochettino, 44, Argentina FA sources told broadsheet La Nacion.
Ex-Argentina international Pochettino is contracted by Spurs until 2022.
Perez also plans to speak to Lionel Messi. He wants the Barcelona forward and former Argentina captain to reverse his recent decision to quit international football.

Part of David Moyes statement after being appointed as new Blunderland manager ..

MOYES: 'I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity.'

and the "off camera bit" ..... to manage at ANY level again after the complete **** up I made at my previous attempts :-"

Certainly looks like a good appointment, after all he has recent experience of fighting relegation battles at both United and Sociadad

MORE FROM MOYES

Here is what David Moyes had to say following his appointment.

“I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity," he told the official club website.

“I have taken over a big British club, with a great support and I’m looking forward to working in the Premier League again. (unfortunately that's just history,we all know that after they finished the season poorly and outside Europe I got the sack, went to Spain, got the sack again, and now nobody trusts me and I've had to come to Blunderland)

“I look forward to continuing the good work done by Sam."

That is getting out of here in the shortest time possible

Joe Allen....not a bad player but never quite fitted in at Liverpool, certainly under Klopps style of play....

Stoke City have signed Wales midfielder Joe Allen from Liverpool for £13m.
The 26-year-old, who had a year left on his contract, was also a target for the Potters' Premier League rivals Swansea, whom he left to join Liverpool in 2012.
Allen was Stoke's second signing of the day after Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi joined the club from Al Ahly for a fee that could rise to £5m.

Meanwhile in darkest China, the Manchester derby due to be played in Beijing was cancelled due to torrential rain and fears over the state of the pitch. Also Uniteds plane was diverted to Tianjin, earlier, because of the atrocious weather.
So,not a very successful tour of SE Asia for Jose Mourinho's men.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
