To be honest mac I can't think of anywhere "IN TOWN" that hasn't either closed or caused me (or the wife) to say never again..

If you don't mind a short tuk tuk ride or a drive, there is a young lad who works between Nong samrong golf course and the road to BB resort/Englishmans Retreat (usual red/white pole outside). He does a good basic haircut for B80. Seen several younger Thai guys in there so I assume he does a certain amount of Styling as well. Never seems too busy at about 11am, but seems to get crowded lunch time.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I did try to find the shop near bb villa and drove to the army base a couple of times but just couldn't see it.

I exiting that soi where bb villa and empire hotel are I turned left on the main road and immediately saw a sign for a barber.

Clean shop and cold air conditioning.

Decent haircut for 80 baht. Will return

So it was back to my favourite barber for my monthly trim.

Upon entering the shop I found my previous lady who cut my hair was replaced by a boy.

He was just finishing up on an existing customer who he changed B80.

Then it was my turn. I mentioned to him that I had been here previously when the lady cut my hair and she did a good job.
He also did a good job but when it came to pay he wanted B100. I asked how much again and he said you come before so B80.

I payed B80 but no tip.

A shame as there are large signs saying B40 to B80 for a haircut in and outside the shop.

I will go again but no future tips.

In addition it was not so cool inside the shop this time.

The wife usually cuts my hair. Just uses scissors and takes forever.

The last time however I went to the place next to The Sports Bar, Soi Sampan. An OK cut for 100baht.

Always had the thought that both barber shops and tattoo shops should not be allowed next to bars .......a five minute walk "cooling off" period should always be allowed

A really good male hairdressing shop is on Soi Pratcha Santi.. (first left traffic lights after leaving Makro).50 metres on the left after 7/11. Old boys who have been there forever and natter like an old barber shop. Understand the weave and wave of older farang hair. 80 baht plus 20 tip not to be cheap git. ;-)
