Udon to Phuket

Post by ban thaat yai girl » March 19, 2007, 12:06 am

I will be back home for a few months from may to August and I am hoping to get my husband to take me and the kids to Phuket for a little while. Does anybody know if there is a direct flight route or would we have to go from Bangkok

From Udon Thani - you have to go through Bangkok.

As Doc says there are no direct flights. The best idea would be to fly Nok, changing flights in Bangkok.

Or if you are connecting to International flights through Bangkok on the return leg, flying ThaiAir maybe better.

Believe me BM, it's not a nice drive. It's a very long and arduous journey. - Too far too be a pleasant drive and not really scenic enough. Too much traffic, with lots of commercial lorries and buses/coaches.

Ok you could break the journey in Hua Hin or similar, but the pluses certainly don't outweigh the minuses for me.

maybe its just me, as i love driving around Thailand, and stopping off and having the freedom... if time was on your side of course. :D
you are never going to beat flying but the driving would be a second soloution, coaches would be bottom of the list. LoL
