Some may not have noticed (or cared) that "The Toffees overcame the Gooners 2-1 after a poor 30 minutes at the start of the game came on strong towards half time. Started the 2nd. half in similar vein and after a nervy last 15-20minutes saw the game out. All in all a vast improvement to the way they played against Watford. Phil Jagielka red carded in injury time thus will miss the Merseyside Derby next Monday night under the lights at Goodison (lecky permitting!)

the good news for all is that Instantaneous? Video refereeing doesn't seem to be far away. It will be introduced in the World Club Championships in Japan? in the near future. It depends how it is used though. They have it in Rugby League & just about every situation (scores especially) go up to the officials. It would be an advertising channel's wet dream if that happens & make games just too disjointed.
Personally I would prefer a 'review' type system where the Captain gets 'x' (1 or 2 a half ?) & if he calls it wrong it is gone...

Some great news for goodison and 747man with Mason Holgate signing a new 5 year deal with Everton and Gareth Barry and Leighton Baines signing extensions that will keep them both at the club till they are approaching 40.

Midfielder Gareth Barry and defenders Leighton Baines and Mason Holgate have all signed new contracts with Everton.
Barry, 35, has extended his deal until June 2018, while 32-year-old Baines has committed to the club until June 2019.
Holgate, 20, who was handed his Premier League debut by manager Ronald Koeman on the first day of the season, has signed a five-year extension.
Koeman said the experienced Barry and Baines were "leaders in our dressing room and on the pitch".
"For younger players, they are a little bit like teachers. They have that experience and young players need to listen to them for they will learn," he added.
The Dutchman said Holgate is "one of the big talents" at the club.

The big games are on Sunday (Manchester City v Arsenal,11pm Thai) and Monday night (Everton v Liverpool,3am Tuesday Thai) where local residents in Nong Khai have expressed concern about power outages in the town again !
