[quote="ZidaneRomelu Lukaku: Everton striker rejects new contract at Goodison Park
By Phil McNulty Chief football writer BBC
Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League and has been linked with a return to former club Chelsea, from whom he joined Everton for £28m in 2014.

One man's opinion.

Actually Zid, are you becoming as bored as me on this topic? Here we have yet another 'football expert' rehashing this continuing Lukaku saga. Lukaku, thus far, has been linked with a possible move to ALL existing top six EPL teams; not to mention several overseas clubs!!  Although possibly misguided, unless he has some strong links among the now tightly knit squad of Chelsea players, I don't think he will be returning there, to be exposed to the risk of further unhappy experiences. Utd , of course, is not going to happen, since Mourinho has demonstrated many times over his remarkable expertise in identifying, and furthering the careers of young players of outstanding promise, and has been outspoken in his assessment of Lukaku's limited abilities! I think my view of where Arsenal are at currently, would be shared by most EPL fans. Performance; moral; commitment; self belief, and the full support of the currently very fickle Arsenal fans, require to be substantially raised, and displayed to reignite the Club's fast fading chances of claiming what appears to be the sole remaining Champions League spot. For these reasons, a move to Arsenal would not appear to be in Lukaku's best interest, at this stage in his career. Of City, Liverpool & Spurs, the Manchester club would appear the most attractive, at first sight. But upon taking into account the quality and size of the City squad and most particularly the competition he would be facing, not least from Aquero & Jesus, there would exist the very real prospect of finding himself spending more time on the bench, than the pitch.
So, were I Lukaku, out of the EPL clubs, my choice would be between Liverpool & Spurs both of which clubs are in serious need of a striker of his quality; are in a position to offer plenty of playing time; already have quality squads which have demonstrated an ability to compete for honours and, most importantly, have forward looking owners who, thus far, have demonstrated a willingness to back two young managers of immense promise. All very logical, on my part; but then I am not Lukaku! :D

Alan, thank you for your thought provoking post ! :pirate:
Everton may well move up to 6th but I think it might only be temporary as United will have 3 games in hand. ;)
And I see the Toffees are playing Hull this weekend......Niasse with a point to prove and Lukaku being jeered by his own fans, maybe ? :-k

I think the only Premiership club Lukaku might move to is Chelsea with Conte staying on as manager but 60m seems a ridiculous price,although not as ridiculous as 89m for Pogba ! =;
I cant see him moving to United as Mourinho doesn't rate him and I,personally, find him a moody, lazy player despite his scoring record.
Liverpool......norfolkand chance !
Citeh,Gooners,Spuds.....cant really see it happening.

More likely to be a team in Europe, guaranteed Champions League football, cash to spend and need rebuilding.
I reckon it could be Paris St.Germain.

Agree Zid, far more likely than his remaining in the EPL. PSG would appear to be a good 'fit since I would rule out the possibility of any interest from the real European powerhouses, (i.e. Barco; Real; Bayern etc.).
But I would still be over the moon should he sign for Spurs; perhaps along with Martial, Rashford & Mata, those other players perceptively rated as 'bench players' by The Mouth; after all, what better recommendation and assurance of success could any player ask for? :-"

Maybe a bit harsh but Boro have been really struggling recently.....only 19 league goals,so far and if you cant score you wont win games.

Aitor Karanka: Middlesbrough sack manager after three and half years

Middlesbrough have sacked manager Aitor Karanka after three and a half years at the club.
Boro are winless in their last 10 Premier League games and currently sit in the relegation zone, three points from safety with 11 games remaining.
They are also the league's lowest scorers with just 19 goals and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City last weekend.
Assistant head coach Steve Agnew will take control of the first team.
"This club will always hold a special place for me," said Karanka, 43.
"I'd like to thank Middlesbrough for a wonderful opportunity and the players, staff and all the people at the club who I have worked with."
The former Real Madrid assistant manager took over at the Riverside in November 2013 to become Middlesbrough's first ever non-British boss.
Boro secured automatic promotion to the Premier League last season.
The club met with Karanka and following discussions, Boro said it was in their "best interests" to make the change.

Ooops! I also forgot Luke Shaw; who I don't see as having any future at Utd. For those who may have forgotten, (and certainly The Mouth will not be among them!!), Shaw chose to go to Utd over the approach by Mourinho to join him at Chelsea.

The Spuds wont get Lukaku but you've missed Wayne Rooney from your wish list of United players....he could be available to add a bit of mobility to Tottenhams strike force ! :badteeth:

Make the most of these games....International matches bring a halt to Premiership & Championship games next weekend.. however that does mean that these are the last Premiership games this season with the 7 hour time difference...6 hours for the ones after this..

Some interesting games tonight starting with the early kick off at 7.30pm Thai.
West Brom have had a couple of poor results and we all know about Arsenals recent struggles.
The late kick off is interesting also.....Bournemouth need a win so as not to be dragged into the relegation fight and Swansea need a win to pull away from the clubs at the bottom of the table.
The only clearcut winners tonight I can see are Everton and Crystal Palace.Indeed I have got Everton as my Banker on IKTS with Niasse being unavailable for Hull to terrorise the Toffees shaky central defence. ;)

The big game tomorrow is Manchester City against Liverpool at 11.30pm Thai.Liverpool play better against the top teams so I reckon it will end up 2-2.

A pleasant weekends EPL viewing to my readers both at home and overseas......

West Brom 3-1 Arsenal
Things go from bad to worse for the Gunners as they have to substitute an injured Cech & Sánchez also comes off early looking worse for wear.
Poor display by the visitors who had a massive 77% of possession but rarely looked like doing anything with it.
No reader will be surprised that 2 of the Baggies goals came from the head of Dawson from corners. Indeed only Arsene & his team looked bemused by it.. :D

Middlesbrough 1-3 Manchester United
United were cruising at 2 nil up & the second half well underway. Jose makes the curious decision to counter Boro changing their attacking line up by attempting to shut up shop. Off goes Mata, on comes Rojo & the home side start bombarding the United box & score their first goal for 500 minutes & it is game on.
United are fortunate that Valdes makes a horror of an error to gift United a goal & the game..
United were poor in defense today & lucky to get all 3 points.
Boro showed more attacking intent today than they have shown all season.. Tough spot for them to get out of though..
