747man wrote:Leicester had one eye on Wednesday nights Champions League quarter final away at Atletico Madrid which explains the much changed team they fielded last night..........Oh Dear Andy,MUCH Weakend ??? Only Mahrez was left on the bench,Otherwise it was there NORMAL Team......Still I Expect this RUBBISH To be written by a Manc !!!
Actually,Alan, surprisingly its you who is talking rubbish ! :badteeth:
Leicester didn't play first choice defenders Simpson,Morgan and Fuchs.
Also first choice midfielders Mahrez and Ndidi were missing, although Mahrez came on as a sub with 30 minutes to play.
Regular forward starter recently,Okazaki, wasnt in the squad either.

So that's 6 regulars missing.....hardly a "NORMAL" team is it ??

This from the BBC report on the game.......

"But Leicester, much changed before Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final at Atletico Madrid, never looked comfortable.
Lukaku drilled in from close range after the interval and the withdrawal of the bright Demarai Gray and striker Jamie Vardy seemed to signal Leicester's attentions turning towards Europe."

Final score......The Spuds 4 Bournemouth 0
Champagne stuff from The Spuds which must have delighted veteran poster,mat80 !
Bournemouth aren't a bad side and will survive, but were outclassed here.
Goals from Dembele,Son,Kane and Jansson gave Spurs their 7th successive league victory.Their best run in over 50 years.

Man of the Match performance from Ross Barkley (BBC). After a difficult week he came up with the goods. Everton have banned "The Sun" newspaper reporters from their premises. The newspaper hasn't been the same since it changed its Page 3 format! The original source of Zid's Avatar Pics?

Pool had the lion's share of the game as the Baggies just tried to frustrate them. That worked well enough until the visitors eventually scored just before half time. The hosts had little to offer by way of attack & so it ended up a pretty easy day out for the visitors.

Probably as poor a game as Chelsea have played all season. They never really threatened the United goal. 6 to play & now only 4 points ahead, but they have a pretty comfortable run in.

:D goodison, but what a pass once he used his feet..
Both United goals were more than a little fortuitous, however Chelsea got just about all they deserved out of the game. Both Hazard & Costa were well below par, maybe due to uncertainty about where they will be playing next season. The pair are a couple of the reasons why Chelsea are top of the pile but on yesterday's showing the club should snatch the hand of any decent offer.

West Brom 0 Liverpool 1
Not much of a game as West Brom are always well organized defensively but rely on set pieces for their main goal threat.
Surprisingly, they slipped up just before half time which let Firmino in for the winner. The match only really livened up in the last few minutes when keeper,Foster, joined the attack as the Baggies belatedly chased an equalizer.
A very important 3 points for Liverpool in their battle for Champions League football next season.

Manchester United 2 Chelsea 0
Well, what a surprise ! :D This is probably the best I've seen United play since Sir Alex left.Fast, direct play, exciting to watch....just like old times, really !Rashford,in particular and Lingard gave the Chelsea defence a harrowing time throughout.Herrera snuffed out Hazard more or less completely.Pretty easy for Bailly and Rojo against Costa whose intimidating style failed for once.I think Chelsea were surprised at the tempo United played and never really got going until the last 20 minutes.
Its rumoured mat80 has phoned Jose Mourinho, personally,to thank him for giving The Spuds a whiff of the title ! \:D/
Still Chelseas to lose,though.......

Oh,yeah.....last night.....Middlesborough 1 Arsenal 2
Boro looking certain for the drop.......Arsenal unlikely to make the top 4.......only interest, really,is it keeps mat80's hopes alive of winning a couple of bottles of Chardonnay ! :badteeth:
