The official Thailand forecast doesn't support that -- so far. Most rain forecasted at 3mm ...

But as we all know, the buckets can empty in a split second. :D

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Personally I find the Thai Government weather site about as much use as a chocolate ice-cream in the middle of the Sahara desert, and they are so uncommunicative in reality it could rain but where, the NE of Thailand is not exactly easily defined and it covers mountains in Loei to the vast plain of Korat.

I prefer Windty or Accuweather, far more accurate and informative.

I use those methods, too. =D>

My weather app on my phone has been very accurate and even includes a moving, real-time radar that is better than any I have seen online with Thailand Meteorology. I use it all the time on long riding trips. Never has failed me.

Loving this rain, as the garden just soaks it up and all the orchids get a good splash also.

In defense of the government folks who 'forecast' the weather. A storm like the one that hit just south of the city of Udon a few days ago took the roofs off of 200+ houses. We got an inch of rain and not a peep of wind. The storm that blew the roof off of St Mary's (this exact time of year) was much more widespread.....but the severe damage was limited to the St Mary's/UD Town area. I check the online weather.......but put more value in what the sky is doing at the moment. And right now at kilo 18, it looks like the sky could open up any second.

The only sure way to see what the weather is doing is too look at radar http://weather.tmd.go.th/kknLoop.php
The majority of the storms are very small and constantly moving, impossible to predict accurately.

The storm a year ago didn't just affect St Mary's last year. Widespread destruction on the east side of town and out to Sam Phrao to the North east. About 20 houses in our village lost all or part of their roofs and many commercial buildings damaged too. About half our banana tree were actually SNAPPED in half by the wind. F-in-law said worst storm he had ever seen. We had replaced our roof the year before. 8-[ . So we survived.

One things for sure, there was the storm of the week when OT got back home to my wife after the pre-agreed 2am curfew last Wednesday.
It wasn't too bad until OT's phone rang and my lovely wife answered it, then thunder struck me whilst still fast asleep on the living room floor. Wasn't thunder that struck actually, it was a kick in the bo!!ox.

OT...... \:D/
