Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
There ain't going to be any real justice in this case...it's a bit of community work and or a suspended sentance with a few million fine.thats why he's shown contempt of the whole saga..this is just an inconvenience and time wasted when he could be out partying and racing his farraris round western capitals...oh I forgot the old head shaving bollocks and a couple of weeks in a five star temple...
Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
According to the latest press reports he was here in Thailand but left a couple of days ago.
Are the RTP really trying bring him in for justice???? IMO to much tea money involved.

Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
see it I got this right or atleast close:
police drag their feet on the investigation, with a possibility they screwed it up all together..... once this goes to court (if that even happens).
prosecutor drags his feet filing official charges, semi blaming the police for delays.
in the mean time 2 charges expire.
stupid time passes before charges are filed and court dates set, timed fairly close after above mentioned 2 charges expired.
courts allow delays, 4 or 5 times. figure the odds of any regular thai or falang getting this type of consideration.
public opinion and international news services start questioning what's going on with the thai justice system in regard to this case.
finally a delay appeal is disapproved, another few days given for the offender to show up (not likely).
deadline passes for his court appearance, and amazingly it only took them a few days after that to issue an arrest warrant. of course this is what the public and news services have been told, lets just say I'm not a believer.
can't be that hard to find out where the suspect is located, if you're really trying to arrest/get him deported back to thailand. key being...... if the police/prosecutor/justice system/govt wants him to have his day in court (justice to be served).
Misc:
* if i was him, i'd already be in a non-extridition country. expect someone will let him know when it's time for this.
** what's the odds that by some mircle he is arrested and returned to thailand, he gets bail within a few days of arrival or that he even spends a day in detention/prison.

Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
would be interesting if someone would investigate the financial transactions of all those involved (involved or that have influence on the outcome).
follow the money, any good reporter / investigator knows this.
* real world: maybe 1 out of 10 reporter/investigator in high profile cases would seriously be threatened, here it's completely opposite.
feel those responsible for letting this drag on for so long, are just as guilty.

journos who publish unfavorable stories were threatened with execution only 2 days ago by a general of the junta
Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
Aha, the Boss's passport has been revoked. I never thought the Foreign Ministry would do that.

Allegedly, he's not in Singapore now.

Just read that they haven't issued the arrest warrant or interpol notice, prosecutors blaming the cops for not filing the required paperwork....that was 2 months ago.

Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
It is the rich that the military dictatorship in Thailand are supporting, that is why they are in power. There is no way a wealthy person like this scumbag will be tried or punished. Now if he was a poor nobody he would be done for.
Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
It all comes back to the RTP serving papers to the Attorney General. Nothing can proceed until that first legal step is taken. No passport revocation, no Interpol red notice, nada. The RTP obfuscate and drag their feet and the legal process is thus stymied.
With a family net worth somewhere in the region of US$9.5 billion, I think they can (continue to?) pay off every single cop in the Realm for as long as it takes or for all eternity, forever and ever.... whichever comes first.

Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
So, the police do know how to follow a money trail.
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/crime/1 ... bar-murder
They just need to follow the money trail on who is getting paid off to stall this case. Expect there's a long list of senior police and prosecutors with a few extra baht to spend.

Still no update, so assume still no action by the police or prosecutor.
Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
Anti Corruption panel to investigate police.
As it states in the article they do not have the power to move the case forward.

Re: Red Bull Heir Held Over Cop's Hit-And-Run Death
Is this the first time the Thai media have specifically identified and named the six officers to be investigated?
