Re: THE ROCKHOUSE UDON IS NOW OPEN
I had a pizza from the Rockhouse a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a spinach and mushroom pizza but they didn't have mushrooms, so switched for some olives. I have to say the pizza was very nice, lots of tomato sauce, lots of cheese... simply delicious. Heavy (weight wise) as well, so a lot for your money. I think it was 200B for a 16" pizza - happy hours special or something like that. If I lived in Udon I think I'd forget the 2-for-1 card at Pizza Company and start buying from here, much better pizza for a very reasonable price.
In the USA, I would never go to a McDonalds or a Pizza Hut or BK... these are all at the very bottom of the fray there. Dozens of places better then them. Even here it seems there are local establishments with a better product at around the same price. So all this hoopla over PH and the like is unfathomable![Confused ](./images/smilies/uhoh3.gif)

ATTENTION ALL U.S. VETERANS-IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Guys,
If you didn't know, be advised that as a VET you can get VA medical treatment while living in Thailand, albeit on a reimbursement basis.
The program seems to be quite liberal and pretty much hassle free. Follow the link below:

You mean, as a Vet who happened to serve during certain times of conflict (whether or not you actually saw any combat). Unless Grenada has recently been deemed a "war", I and a lot of others are not eligible for medical treatment.PAPA Z wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 7:47 amGuys,

It appears that this medical program is only for Veterans with VA-rated, service-connected disabilities. That leaves me out!
Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.
Re: THE ROCKHOUSE UDON IS NOW OPEN
That's what I was told. I imagine it is quite hard to maintain a full and fresh inventory of food items during times of low demand... I only saw one other customer there during the hour or so I spent there. Anyway, the pizza quality and quantity made it a moot point for me.Raoul Duke wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 8:48 amNo mushrooms??rjj04 wrote: ↑June 20, 2017, 1:24 pmI had a pizza from the Rockhouse a couple of weeks ago. Eligibility for VA care is not limited to veterans with disabilities. Wealthy veterans may not qualify for care, but most of us do. It may be worth your time to investigate your possible eligibility. https://www.vets.gov/healthcare/eligibility/semperfiguy wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 9:08 amrjj04 wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 8:48 amYou mean, as a Vet who happened to serve during certain times of conflict (whether or not you actually saw any combat). Re: THE ROCKHOUSE UDON IS NOW OPEN
Hmmm, all these years and I had never seen this on their website anywhere....
"If none of the above apply to you, you may still qualify for care based on your income. Learn more about how the amount of money your family makes can affect whether you qualify for VA benefits. Learn more about income limits."
47K income threshold (my zip code in USA) is a pretty high income for the average retired person as well. It seems people like Semperfey and myself have not been paying attention. Thanks for bringing this up guys. Might come in useful for a lot of us.

Did I miss something because I checked the link and it said for US veterans with VA rated, service connected disabilities which doesn't sound very liberal or hassle free to me.PAPA Z wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 7:47 amGuys,

Re: THE ROCKHOUSE UDON IS NOW OPEN
I could be wrong but my guess is this only applies to US vets living in the US. To get benefits for those living overseas the guidelines stating a service related disability most likely applies.rjj04 wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 5:21 pmHmmm, all these years and I had never seen this on their website anywhere....

Re: THE ROCKHOUSE UDON IS NOW OPEN
Actually, I'm already signed up for VA Healthcare as a Priority 6 member since 2010 and am entitled to certain benefits so long as I pay a co-pay; however, those benefits are only available to me in the USA and not in Thailand. I made application in my city of residence before retiring to Thailand. Below is a link to an explanation of those who may qualify under each Priority Group, a breakdown on benefits available in each Priority Group as well as a brochure on the program. The program that Papa Z has mentioned is not related to this one so far as I can see.rjj04 wrote: ↑June 22, 2017, 5:21 pmHmmm, all these years and I had never seen this on their website anywhere....

Folks, yes sometimes it does happen that we run out of things. If the local market and Makro or others from whom we trade with don't have what we need, I'd rather take a poke in the eye for not having something than serving mushrooms from a can. And no I'm not embarrassed by that.
