Re: Las Vegas Shooting
What do you expect in the Wild West where gun control is none existent doesn't matter if it's kids in Schools. What kind of Hotel allows someone to walk in with Automatic Weapons and enough ammo to kill hundreds.

"What kind of Hotel allows someone to walk in with Automatic Weapons and enough ammo to kill hundreds." A hotel that does not open or screen any of their guest's luggage or personal belongings i.e. golf bag, computer bags, shopping bags .... A hotel like every other hotel in the USA. A hotel like any other hotel in the world, I suspect.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Must be a big golf bag to hold all the weapons found in his room.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Truly awful, complete coward and scum bag of a man !
Astounded the US still has the second amendment, the right to bear arms.

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
When you intend to do 250 + rounds you need a big golf bag Vlad
Ashamed as I am to say it ....... I feel very little sympathy, it's happened so often, and STILL they refuse to do anything about it themselves, so why should the rest of the world give a damn.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
It's not American bashing its fact America has the worst record for gun crimes in the world so you reap what you sow. Until you change your gun laws and with the RFA having the support of the President nothing will happen to curb this.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Trump previously said he will never ever remove the right to bear arms.
This is the 272nd mass shooting in the states in 2017, the current gun law system does not work and is not fit for purpose in a modern society. My condolences to the victims and everyone connected to this horrific attack.

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Didn't a bunch of people just get killed at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester? Seems like we have global psyco person problem.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
There was yes, that was a bomb attack by a radicalized terrorist, using a homemade bomb, big difference to someone murdering over 50 people with a legally bought weapon, he had 10 rifles in his room also.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Living in the UK and being able to remember our only 2 gun shootings being Hungerford and Dunblane our gun laws were drastically changed making it difficult to obtain a firearm. I'm certain my country is safe due to our gun laws. Sadly we never hear of these crimes happening elsewhere except America, Where 1 in 3 Americans own a gun these atrocities will carry on as long as you can walk into a store and buy anything you want with no permits and your right to carry Assault rifles.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Think of it like this, in June 2017 a gunman opened fire on the Congressional Baseball Game, 6 people were hit.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Cong ... l_shooting
If a mass shooting like that happened to congress members and they STILL didn't do anything about gun control, that kind of says it all. How much more motivation do they need?
Shows how entrenched the gun lobby is.
For the anti-yank crowd let's put it like this: America has as much chance of getting rid of it's guns as England has of pulling off any significant version of BREXIT.

Gun ownership is a right, but healthcare is a privilege. Good Luck with that....
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
The second amendment written over 200 years ago where it took about one minute to get a single shot from a musket, I think the time has come to make an amendment on the amendment???? Just maybe....
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
The guy was also a pilot. He could have flown into that venue and hurt a lot of people that way. There is no end to the devious methods of a psycho.
Re: Las Vegas Shooting
But he didn't.
How many gun related massacres in the US this year let alone the past twenty years?
I think the world knows the US government wont do a thing as the gun lobby has to much power, it is time they did though.
I guess we will have to listen to the US citizens praying to God yet again, as if that will do anything,,, mmmm makes you wonder about the power of limited media ownership,,,, brainwashing to accept the unacceptable...

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Would any of the subscribers to this thread see any objection to a TV debate , involving the closest relative of each of the 59 victims, plus 59 American politicians with proven records as being pro-gun lobbyists; such debate to be moderated by a completely independent non American person.
Such a debate would not change, by one iota, those benefiting, either commercially or by being able to fulfill their sad feelings of personal inadequacy, or machoistic needs, but it would provide a rare chance for the voices of the victims to be heard. Or is that asking too much!

Have all the debates you wish.
There's a process for amending the Constitution. If Americans wanted it changed, they'd change it. Lots of Amendments to that document. If it was impossible, there wouldn't be any.

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Some 20+ years ago I lived and worked in the US. Coming from the UK I found the American obsession with guns and violence very unsettling. I worked with one guy who was a real gun-nut. He had a vast collection of weapons and would sit reading gun magazines hour after hour. It seemed like a sickness to me and there was definitely something very weird about the guy.
Americans seem to have it in their blood and unable to recognise the problem.

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
Since 1968 more than 1.5 million people have been killed in America by guns, which is 200 thousand more than has been killed in any battlefield in the country's history.
The fact is gun ownership and the second amendment are so entrenched in the American society that nothing will happen any time soon, that and the fact that the gun business is big $$$$$$ employing thousands of people. It will happen again and again.

Re: Las Vegas Shooting
1.5 million since 1968. equals about 750,000 couples who would have had approx 2.2 kids each, who would have had 2.2 kids each .... so ....... there are now approx 3.5 million less Americans alive (due to gun violence) to vote against the gun laws.
