3 - 0 away to Bristol City, LUFC back on track, or a dead cat bounce?
I'm hoping it's the former.

Great win for Port Vale.3 on the bounce
Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
The 'other' grass roots results..
Town back up to 14th. after a mini slump of their own, while Vale are climbing out of relegation danger & are now within points touching of those immediately above. Rovers have also narrowed the gap on those above, while Chesterfield are now 6 points adrift at the bottom..
Maccesfield's strong run of form continues & they have now developed a 3 point cushion from the chasing pack!!
The Iron now back up to 8th. after a mid-season slump saw them start to fall away.Scunthorpe United 2 Peterborough United 1
Cheltenham Town 1 Lincoln City 0
Stevenage 1 Forest Green Rovers 2
Leyton Orient 0 Macclesfield Town 1

Not just Palace having a bad start .....
BENEVENTO MAKE A CHANGE
Benevento have sacked Marco Baroni and named Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach after becoming the first team in Serie A history to lose their first nine matches of the season.
They are also the only team in Europe's five major leagues without a point.

Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
Citi were probably given their toughest game of the season so far by high flying Wolves. Indeed their best player was probably goalkeeper Claudio Bravo as Wolves put a break on Citi's free goalscoring style. The end result was rather disappointing for the visitors, given their efforts...
Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
I didn't know where to put this didn't want to start another thread & this is about the best place I could think of..
They will meet either Spain and Mali.
Makes me wonder what happens to these young players. The choices that the senior squad manager has is anything but earth shattering (a couple of strikers aside) so what happens to these under 17 players (& even the under 19s) to turn them 'average'.....
Unless the England senior squad is suddenly going to turn into world beaters???
Yes, England under 17s are in the World Cup Finals. A considerable victory against a very good Brazilian side who didn't lose a match in the group stages.20:24
FULL-TIME
England 3-1 Brazil

Was watching one of the footie shows a few days ago (might have been Keys & Gray) and they had a section on the fact that virtually all Bundesliga sides are watching /scouting the English "kids", as they know that they will not get a chance to play in the Prem and they are far better than what is available in Germany. Prime example being Jadon Sancho, recalled from this tourny by club Dortmund and getting minutes from the bench at the weekend

Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
"In a bid to increase exposure for the Carabao Cup, today’s draw will be conducted by two familiar faces from British sport, 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson and former England cricketer Phil Tufnell."
Will someone please explain how on earth bringing some guy from squashedball and a "cricketer" to do a football draw is doing anything apart from making the organisers of the competition an even bigger laughing stock than they have already managed to become?

Draw delayed after pep has complained about the balls they are using for the draw
22:21
BREAKING NEWS...
The official Carabao Cup Twitter feed has said this:
"Draw delayed: Carabao Cup Round Five Draw will now take place at 5pm following a minor technical glitch at Twitter HQ."
Couldn't organise a p*ss up at day&night

Am I the only one wondering why a glitch at twitter hq has anything to do with 2 guys pulling 4 balls each out of a bag, They used to manage it without any help back in the day, but then again if youve got a Rugby player and a cricketer there

Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
To say that the draws for the Carabao Cup have not gone smoothly would be an understatement - no matter who they got to do them..The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw paired Bristol City with Manchester United after technical problems kept fans waiting almost two hours in a failed attempt to broadcast on Twitter.
Arsenal will face West Ham, Leicester City are at home to Manchester City and Chelsea host Bournemouth.

The whole Twitter thing for these quarter finals was a totally unnecessary complication.

A thunderous game in store at ER tonight.
Leeds - Sheffield United games are always a bit feisty, and I'm sure this one will be no exception.
Come on you mighty whites. 3 points, please.

Re: Grass Roots Footie 2017/18
Chris Wilder has done a great job at Sheffield United.I remember him managing Halifax and Oxford United in the Conference. In fact,he got Oxford United back into the Football League.
A bit of a surprise he got the Sheffield United job last year but he has more than justified his appointment.

The only time I ever hear of the thing is when someone has posted something that they have to post an apology for, and fiascos like this ........... The world would be a far better place without these twits

Well "The Blades" sit atop "The Championship" Feisty affair as predicted or a Yorkshire Derby, good to have live football back, some good games this weekend courtesy of #14 (your home of Championship football.) NO, I am not planning for next season before you ask!
