Trout

Post by tamada » November 10, 2017, 1:16 am

Fed up with muddy Isaan catfish, trucked-in seafood and the local salmon offerings (for now) and recall having some sublime trout at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Maha Nakhon in Bangkok when it first opened.

Anyone else want some rainbow or brown trout and/or know where it can be had?

Frozen rainbow trout was available at Siamburi's in Pattaya a few months back. I will investigate!

Where Parrot?
We were there today and toured the whole exhibition. Good quality fruit and veg at surprisingly low prices but did not see a tank/or freezer with fish. Would have thought it was to warm here for locally reared Rainbows. :D

As you walk through the exhibition from Robinson's, the trout was on the right hand side, nearly to the end of the exhibit.
I was told the trout are from the northern reaches of Thailand.........I'd assume farm raised, maybe the golden triangle area.

Well spotted that man!

BTW, I bought some (80 baht for 2) avocados in there a few days back so a re-visit is in order.

Dropped by Sunday morning and two smoked trout at 250 baht each remaining.

I will check again for the un-smoked ones soon.
