Pan,Look at Everton, in The 1980's Fa Cup Winners '84, Euro Cup Winners Cup ' 85, FA Cup Finalists '86 & '89....League Champions '87.....

They are the only club to have played over 100 seasons in the top flight of English football, the 2014–15 season being their 112th. :D :D :D :D :D

Howard Kendall era (1981–1987)[edit]
Honours Won : FA Cup (1984), Charity Shield (1984), European Cup Winners Cup (1985), League Championship (1985), Charity Shield (1985), Charity Shield Shared (1986) League Championship (1987).

Runner-Up : Milk Cup (1984), FA Cup (1985), First Division (1986), FA Cup (1986)

So Mr Panmotor.....A Little Bit MORE Than AVERAGE......

LUFC....." Who Are Yer ????? "
And the European success.....1 ECWC?? Achievements since the 80s??

As I said, Everton are the averagely sized child who will generally be slighty better than my fat lad but my porkie son can actually beat the Usain Bolt of the egg and spoon world once in a blue moon whereas your lad will always be 5th at best.

I agree that your son is the best of the average lads though!

Nice to see Chris Coleman saying that the only way for the club to get out of their current mess was for everyone , players, staff, fans to be 100% committed to the cause. At the time of the quote the players and fans were struggling to a 2-2 home draw with Milwall and Coleman was switching on the Christmas lights in Newport Gwent #-o ](*,)

Sunderland need a different direction - Coleman

Well how blooming hard is that ........ when you are going down, then going down, followed by going down, and then you hit the bottom (which is where they are), You can only go sideways or up ..... it's impossible to go in the same direction any more ....stupid Taff  #-o ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

FANTASTIC away win for Scunny at high flying Bradford means the Iron move up to 3rd in L1 :D :D :D :D , the winning streak now to 6 on the bounce , seems although tempted Graham Alexanders decision to turn down the Everton , West Ham and Scottish national sides manager positions to stay at the more ambitious SCUNTHORPE will hopefully pay off .

UP THE IRON ... remember its never too late to become a Scunny fan its not expensive (5k cash payment to DM recruitment services see earlier post) and now you get a FREE original copy Scunny shirt from Bobay market .

A toughie tonight for LUFC, away to Wolves. Looking forward to the mighty whites doing us proud and getting 3 points.
But I'll settle for one.

After LUFC's all too predictable capitulation against Wolves, another tough game today away at Barnsley, early kick off.
I am beginning to have my doubts about Thomas Christianson. Wouldn't Tony Pulis make a great replacement?
Have to say great win for Scunny against Bradistan earlier in the week. Good luck to all our much loved featured teams this weekend.

Hi all, my first time posting on this tread, so a few words of introduction. I have recently come to live in the Udon area so don't know my way around yet.
For football I have no particular allegiance to any particular team, mainly because where I come from the nearest team was about 60 miles away. I'm a standing on the touchline on a Sunday morning type of guy. Maybe I should start to follow one team!
Reading the thread, it seems that there are a few teams that the posters support, so obviously they get most of the mentions. And I like the banter side of things.
Do any of the guys have get togethers? I'm not really one for the bar scene, but I enjoy a drink.
Anyway, Good luck to all the mentioned teams.

Boot.

Thanks for highlighting the main fixture of the day Statts ... a tuffy for the Iron at home to an in form Charlton side ...fingers crossed Scunny can extend the winning streak further ... but in truth a point wouldnt be too bad either .

Elsewhere its flat caps wippets n lard butties all round as Barnsly v Leeds ...EEE BY GUM

Excellent win for the mighty whites against a poor Barnsley side.
A point of interest in the game was both team captains wareing rainbow armbands and rainbow corner flags. (For rainbow, read gay.) Obviously both teams offering empathy and support to our near neighbours at Scunthorpe. :D

Barnsley 0 Leeds 2
Norwich 1 Preston NE 1
Scunthorpe 2 Charlton 0.....Scunny just 2 points off an automatic promotion place.
Forest Green 1 Cheltenham 1
Lincoln 3 Port Vale 1......Vale back in trouble.
Maidenhead 1 Macclesfield 1......an 88th minute equalizer denies Macc top spot in the Conference.

Welcome Boot.As well as the Grass Roots Footie thread we also have threads for the Premier League,European competitions,World Cup etc. so just join in the posts as you wish.
What part of England do you come from ? If you are looking for a team to support on the forum, best not to support a struggling one.....so that rules out Everton....OK ! :D
