The late 19.15- 20:20 SUVARNABHUMI - UDON flight has been cancelled. This was the connection for the night flights from europe that alot if people may have used.

Just got a message as i was booked on it.

A sign of things to come for high seasion that not enough people want to go connect to udon now?

So when are the authorities going to hit these morons where it hurts ...... in their pockets.

You can't tell me that they didn't know that these changes were going to be made more than ONE DAY before.

Thai Smile should be made to pay ALL ADDITIONAL EXPENSES for everyone they have happily taken money from for these flights. That should include Hotel if needed/Taxi/Meals/cost of flight on other airline etc etc

My wife and son are due to fly on the 8th, I'd be pissed off to the extent none of my family would fly Thaismile again if their flights were changed so late they were unable to make their connecting flights.

Thankfully there are several flights with the budget airlines flying into Don Muang slightly later but it's an extra inconvenience they can do without.

Yes Thai smlie and Thai Airways keep changing there schedule.
we are soon departing from Perth to Udonthani with the original departure time for the W008 was departing at 17.55 allowing us about 2hours and 45 minutes between arrival in bangkok(clearing imigration) and then onto Udon.
as we booked this flight early on in the year.
now that they have rescheduled we now only have 1 hour and 40 minutes as Thai airways have also changed are departing flight from Perth leaving 10 minutes later than original booking all this makes for a very quick connection and hope and pray we now have enough time to make are connecting flight.
if you go on Thai airways website now and type in Perth to Udon they still allow you to book this flight with the new departure time so if they would allow you to book this would that mean that they are responsible for getting you onto that connecting flight?

I did post earlier but it seems to have disappeared , 16.25 out of Udon ( Thai smile ) - Swampy they cancelled it ,I'm now on the 14.30 out of Udon , longer now to wait for connecting flight , but it could have been worse ,the early return as yet they have not changed 07.30 out of swampy

Happened to me last May. I didn't get the notification. Turned up to check in and no flight. Anyway Thai Smile put us up in a nice Hotel, Taxi's and Dinner included. We were put on a flight the next morning. And I had a cheap ticket, not the full flexible one. All good.

It appears that compensation for disrupted travel isn't a problem.

Yes, they can refuse to fly them and take pot luck with the real LCC's via Don Meuang with their more cavalier, "You snooze you lose, we snooze you lose as well" refund policies.

Looks like having an Airbus sitting overnight on the Udon airport apron on 3 nights a week didn't fit with their high season logistics. I only used the 'late' flight a couple of times and didn't see much sense as it was only about 1 hour after the 'regular' last flight. The early morning departure was really handy though for anyone trying to arrive in Singapore or other SE Asian destinations before lunch.

Over the years, a lot of flights from Europe have rescheduled to make for mid-to-late morning Bangkok arrivals and turn-around. Maybe Thai Smile have looked at this and increased mid-day/early afternoon capacity to Udon?
